Got flaming mad the other day
We went out to lunch the other day and the parking was valet only. I NEVER trust any of my cars to a valet, but said "what the hell". The jackass valet got in, put the trans in first and I watched him try to force the trans into second when the "skip shift" activated. I ran over to the Camaro and told the guy to get out NOW! We left this fool and went elsewhere. I still can't understand why in the hell Chevy would even consider the "skip-shift" in a performance car. We buy 6 spds because they are 6 speeds and I did'nt need this guy to break the trans at 1,800 miles and have me eat the repair bill!. I understand this little gem was put there to avoid the "gas guzzler tax", but geeeez it's still beyond me. I ordered a skip shift eleminator from Jannetty that arrived today and having it put on tomorrow.
Pardon the rant. |

Reminds me of a friend of mine who worked in a hospital's circumcision section. He said the tips were great....

When I bought my Camaro, I couldn't figure out how to get into reserve. The salesman didn't tell me the engine had to be running :-)

The skip shift eliminator was the first mod i did to my car. I used to hate when it would engage at the worst possible moment.

Skip shift or not, I wouldn't trust a Valet with a manual trans car anyhow...

If GM wouldn't have put it on our cars we would be paying a gas guzzler tax, that's why. Why get so mad, it takes 5 mins to put on a skip shift eliminator and you won't ever have to deal with it again.

It took more time to jack my car up then to install the skip shift eliminator. |

The skip-shift kicked in while he was parking your car? Why would he need to go to 2nd in the first place?

Never let someone drive your car! I hate the skip shift but I've learned how to overcome it when im driving normal.
I'm from Fort Lauderdale and you pay 5 dollars less if you park your car yourself in valet. If you're anywhere downtown Fort Lauderdale come see me at briny's Irish pub! |
