Having to high rev the engine gets old fast, at least on a daily driver.
I had a series of high-reving Acuras/Hondas.
Initially fun, but way down on torque and just gets tedious.
Eventually, I was happy to get into an STI that had lotsa torque.

I've never been a Mustang fan but the GT350 has my attention. To me it is the perfect combination of ZL1 / Z/28, the cost should be right around the price of the ZL1. As they've said they saw a "white space".

- Naturally aspirated, high revving 500+ HP
- Lighter than the Z/28 (by how much is TBD, I expect ~3800lbs)
- Unique engine
- Magnetic ride
- I would expect ~ZL1 performance in a straight line, better on the track if they've sorted the dampers out.

If the price is reasonable, I'll be adding a GT350 to my garage. Until the launch I was going to purchase a 1LE or ZL1 in the spring. Now I'll wait for the GT350 information / pricing / reviews to be released and also see what's on the horizon for the 6th gen Camaro. Unfortunately, GT350 dealer markups might force a longer wait. This is unless of course something better comes along between now and then.

Its gonna be a competitor but I'm confident the ZL-1 will be a more fun car to own and drive.

For those of you that like high revving engines:

the internet is funny to me people compare a 8200rpm v8 with 400lbs+ of torque to a 4 cyl?????

to put this in perspective the E92 M3 makes 285lbs of toque and they can get that car down the 1320 in the 12's. this car will have 120lbs more.

I think I am just going to let the specs get more solid. if they coax 11 second passes out of this car stock (I could not get there with my zl1 stock) I will do it.

if the it comes in heavy or is still just a 12 second car proabably just stick where I am at as I am not unhappy with the power of the car just wish it put it down a little better. then go buy set of tire that is a step above the goodyears even though they will wear like crap.

I too am contemplating the GT350. However, I' mwaiting until I know more facts about the car and see independent reviews. Also I want to see what Chevy counters with.

I'm sure its going to be bad ass but i dont like the looks
I agree that the back end is pretty ugly, which is why I'm hoping performance makes up for it.

I can confidently say that if you go to a 2.55 upper along with a larger heat exchanger and reservoir you will have zero heating issues. I've tracked my car multiple times doing 30 minute track sessions down here in the Texas heat and never once ran into heat issues. Focusing my car on the track rather than the drag strip I too was worried about creating too much heat on this small blower, but after studying Eaton's efficiency map I determined ~11 psi of boost is the sweet spot.

Interior is definitely not eye catching or anything design wise to me ! So I'll pick the Gen 5 unique look and eye catching color interior! The mustang interior is nice but it's nothing different! This is why I love the Camaro interior because I know that I'm driving something unique just by the interior design!

I dont' know I just like the new mustang interior a bit better. Now 13-14 car I did not liek the handling as well but if they rectify that. recaro's are standard in the car not 2k. not that I care that much about recaro's per say but they do grip you better so if they are free why not. I think my main fear at this point is the specs come it a bit off or if the car is more fragil. there is nothing I hate about the new mustang interior at face value. I don't hate my zl1 interior but I have had better. hell my ram interior is nicer hands down than my zl1.

I hate the retro gauges on my interior for the fact I feel like I will about die if I really use them at speed. I dare you to verify boost in 4th gear near redline ha ha.

Oh , ok ! I the main thing that I love is the retro and unique square Speedo number housing and my old school retro numbers inside the housings too! This is why I traded my 13 to get the 11! But I understand we all have different taste! And yea , lol... I don't look down at my 4 pack performance gauges unless I'm at a light! But those and my HUD is what I had to have because it makes the car driving and interior that much more nice and attractive!

Hey for 53,000 $ you cant expect a big touch screen! wait 53,000 is a lot maybe it should have it? I got it they left it out to save weight those big 8-10" touch screens are heavy look at the Ipad. Nope those are like 3/4 - 1 pound it may actually be lighter than the crap radio with all those buttons. Guess they left it out so they could charge you 3,000$ + for a technology package so the interior doesn't look cheap on your 53,000$ car.

Hahaha..... The screen is bigger on the Other mustang trims! Saving weight by not having it on the gt350 like the Z\28 !
