Question about Exhaust

I spoke with a local installer about installing a Corsa Catback exhaust on my 2013 V6 Camaro and I was asking about total for exhaust and install and they said the vehicle has to be tuned as well. Is that true? That is the FIRST time I have EVER heard of ever needing a tune when installing a catback exhaust. Are they trying to pull a fast one on me or are they correct? Can someone confirm and explain if its true? Don't want to void warranty now since its only 7 months old and want to maintain warranty.

Doesn't need to be tuned, if you get headers then it requires a tune

You should do it yourself! I just installed a Borla catback on mine and I had never done anything like it but it wasn't too bad.

You don't need a tune but if you get long tubes you'll need a tune.

I didn't think so. I even told him why the tune and he said I had to. Which I found very fishy. Thing is they are a very reputable place here. Don't want to name them but they are very well known for cars.

Yep keep shopping.. A catback makes very little difference on these cars, let alone needing to tune for it.

Best regards,

Wouldn't be able to install headers at all as it's the LFX engine.

Auto Anything a is having a great sale on them right now + a mastercard gift card rebate. Make sure you call them to order and tell them you are trying to use coupon code "welcome". The coupon does not work online (with Corsa) but they'll apply part if it to your order. getting my ZL1 Corsa from them as we speak.
