Installed last night and I'm loving it so far. V6ers, there's a step not shown in the install video that I missed in the written instructions at first:

You need to release the centering springs (I found it easiest from inside the car) before dropping the shifter assembly from underneath, otherwise it'll catch on the springs and you'll never get it out. I ended up pulling up the upper boot to make it a little easier. To my surprise getting that boot back on and lining up the "nipples" was actually quite simple with one of us in the car, one underneath.

Instructions specify this step for V6 only, so I guess the V8 has a different centering setup.

Fantastic tip for the V6! We appreciate the feedback!

These are V6 and V8 compatible, however the knob will have the V8 shift pattern. Hurst currently does not offer these with the V6 shift pattern, so a new knob would be necessary. Hurst offers a number of different knobs available here: http://www.hurst-shifters.com/?wpsc_...bs-and-handles

Let us know which knob you are interested in and we can order for you at a discounted rate.

Can you guys get the black knobs with the silver numbers and silver stripes? Also how much does the Hurst shifter reduce the throw by?

Hurst shifter

I have the Hurst installed it myself last year no problems what a difference.
40% throw reduction, very smooth and clicks when put on gear.
I purchased a T handle from Hurst for $30.00. Have pics on my garage page.
