Camaro V6 vs 2010/11 genesis coupe 2.0T
My buddy is close to getting a 2.0T. We went to go test drive one yesterday and damn those things are fun! Took it to an empty lot behind a loading dock did some burnouts and donuts. Those little things are quick.
He already wants to go to the track and I feel like it'll be close.

You may be surprised, the 13+ 2.0T is as quick (vs a manual V6 Camaro) or considerably quicker (vs automatic). They are easy low 14 second cars now at roughly 100 MPH. And sorry, but the R-Spec or track model will beat a V6 Camaro in the handling and braking department with their upgraded suspensions and brembo brakes.

Mid 14 second car vs high 15 second car. There was an RX8 doing 15.8ish at 90 and 2012 civic Si that was going 16.0 @ 88ish at the track last night, these are about the same speed. Even full bolt ons and tune they are slow, high 14s maybe.

Completely disagree. The bump made to this Genesis made it even with our manual V6 cars, meaning our cars were fast enough as is. There still isn't a new car that costs as much as a Camaro V6 and offers the same blend of amazing looks and segment competitive performance.
Lets not kid ourselves, most people who bought a 5th gen V8 or V6 got it mainly for the looks. Keep in mind too that in 09 and early 2010, our V6 was pretty much the fastest new car you could buy for the money. If it wasn't for the performance GM offered with our 6, the Mustang V6 would still be a boat anchor and I doubt the Genesis would be as quick as it is. |
