I live just outside Hamilton, the week I bought my '12 Convertible I was pulled over in Port Dover by a cop on a power trip. Got a warning and to date thats been my only instance. Been past by a lot of cops, no other problems.

why not just put a plate on the front? Stop blaming the police, or move to another state if its so important to you.

I think it's funny how US users comment in the Canada section. It's not as easy to just get up and move to another "state" here as it is in the US. Everything here is really far away from each other.

I would go without the plate until you get your first warming and see how long it takes. For me the cop that gave me a warning lived in the neighbourhood so once I got the warning it was not easy to hide and avoid the cop .... and frankly our cars are pretty noticeable.
Good luck.

U.S. or Canada, same issue. Why do Camaro drivers feel they shouldn't have to comply with the law?

Ummm, gee, IDK. Maybe we're rebels or else we'd be driving a Camry instead of a Camaro. I rarely obey the speed limit and have been know to roll a stop sign or two. I'm with my Canadian bros on this. I don't run a front plate either. Never been an issue, even at checkpoints.

The fact that this law varies from area to area shows it's a bit of a silly law. If it was mandatory in all regions, it wouldn't be an issue.
Front license plates don't really help anyone IMO. Cops are usually behind you, plate cameras are also usually behind you. What realistic reason is there to have a plate in the front? |
