NEED SOME SUGGESTIONS

Ok, Camaro has been out over a year, lots of expirements on parts. What I want is how " BAD " can I make my V6. I was looking at MRT Version 2.0 Exhaust system to give it a deeper bad sound, I want people to here me coming, any other suggestion and videos welcome and will they add any more HP. Will a K & N air intake add HP and how much, is the HP on the V6 304 or 312 as tested on the dyno. I do not want to spend thousands and thousands of dollars right now but was woundering by getting some add on's is it possible to get close to 350 HP or as much as 400 HP out of a V6 ?

I think K&N will give you 4-6 rwhp and Stock HP on the dyno is average 250RWHP. So if you want 350-400HP you probably need FI to get there. Injen CAI, and some LT headers with Catbackexhausts and a tune, give you around 280-290rwhp. You should look at the V6 bolt on sections, lots of discussion there.

Also don't quote me on anything, I'm just guessing with percentages and formulas.

I have the Flowmaster American Thunder exhaust. I looked at the MRT 2 also, I thought they sounded pretty close to each other. I ended up getting the Flowmaster because it was cheaper and the tips look better IMO. I also got the Injen CAI, I think its supposed to add around 10 or so hp. I don't know what the exhaust and CAI actually added but I feel a big difference from stock. And the stock V6 hp is 312. They recertified the engine for 2011 but the 2010 engine is the exact same thing.

Thanks any pics of your exhaust tips.

the V6 is 312 at the crank..not sure at the wheels... IMO if your looking to get 400 HP you really need the V8...OR... your going to be doing some heavy and expensive modification to that v6...

K&N might add a few HP maybe 5 or so, depends on driving conditions temperatures etc, you will notice an engine tone change because you lose the baffles in the stock intake. Just my .02

I've got the Mrt 2.0 exhaust and the Injen CAI in wrinkle black. I'm very pleased with the exhaust, it sounds fantastic. The Injen CAI makes the car feel just a bit faster, and I get about 33 to 34 mpg cruising on the highway now.

I need to create a template for this answer... haha.

1. Cat/Axel-back exhaust - Best deep sound seems to be MRT 1.0 or Flowmaster AMT (see below, pictures don't do it justice)
2. CAI - Injen seems to have best dyno numbers (see below, it also comes in aluminum)
3. Headers - I'm getting shorty headers to keep my cats and warranty
4. Tune - I'm not doing it, because it could/will void warranty

Those are the "big four" things to do to the V6. Good luck.

With Flowmaster A/t exhaust and Injen CAI your adding around 15 to 20 hp. So your at or around 330 HP total. Thats Bad enough for me.

I'm going to do street legal (probably Doug Thorley) shorty headers, too. But I agree, this set up bites pretty hard.

Yeah man, if I do any more mods I am going with the DT headers myself. Seems we think alot alike.

It's your world, I'm just livin' in it...

But seriously, it's just good research. We probably are both analytical and go with what people say, and with proven dyno numbers. I've seen dynos from Injen, Flowmaster, and DT. All of them showed gains. Injen takes the air from below the engine bow. Flowmaster sounds legit, it was a kit designed for the Camaro, it looks sick, and their official youtube video won me over. I'm painted in a corner living in California, so DT seems to have the only shorty headers that will allow me to keep cats and stay street legal.

All in a day's work.

Get an electric cut out. Cheaper and more bad ass than any exhaust you can buy.
