HELP! My gas mileage took a dump... - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I had been getting pretty good MPG but last night I installed my Borla cat back exhaust and a series 69 Typhoon CAI from K&N. The car is running great but I noticed the my MPG are around 10-12mpg!!! The only thing I didn't do when installing the CAI is disconnect the negative battery terminal (I couldn't find it). Do I have to clear the memory?
Any suggestions?

I was getting around the same (11.5) after pretty much the same set-up. I took my car to vengeance racing and had them tune it.

Turns out, my CPU wasn't adjusting for the amount of air, so my fuel trims were all over the place. After the tune and a dyno run, (404 hp 400ft/lbs tq) the car ran strong and I am picking up 16 to 17 city and 19 on the highway. Bottom line, get it tuned, you won't regret it!!!

Re-set the MPG meter on the end of the stalk.
It will recalculate and fluctuate for a few minutes while you drive.
I doubt your cold air had anything to do with it.
Your right foot was probably working harder than normal with your new found Mod...

Were you at the Harely Davidson parking lot on Sycamore Dairy rd. last night with the rest of us with Camaro 5 South?

I did try the reset and it still went down. YES my right foot is probably to blame for most of it.

Getting it tuned voids the warranty and with only 1400 miles on her, I'm not ready to do that.

Don't know if you knew but,
We meet there every Friday at 7:00 pm then go eat.
Almost 25 5th gens there last night....

By the way....your Mods don't need a tune...you may need your warranty!
