Columbia Chevrolet in Cincinnati

Dealer Name: Columbia Chevrolet
Dealer location: 9750 Montgomery Rd Cincinnati, OH 45242
Dealer phone number: (877) 681-7885
Dealer website: http://www.columbiachev.com/

The initial prices aren't really jacked up too bad, but they will pull every single slimy sales trick in the book. To hear I won't pay more than invoice was the tipping point, as two salesmen basically became VERY angry.

Here's what I wrote on Edmunds.com about them:

Quote:
5 Reason to AVOID Columbia Chevrolet
1- A salesman will lie to you that he has the car you're looking for, just to get you to the dealership. When you realize this, he will pull a "ohh I thought you wanted the V8!"
2- Another salesman will push standard sales tactics down your throat and then the moment you tell him you won't buy that day, he will start cleaning his desk. If you had kind of spoken a price with him, and now ask him to give it to you in writing, he will start complaining about how you'll take his paper to the next dealership and they'll beat him by a $100.
3- A salesperson actually mocked me for filling out the online quote request found here at Edmunds.com that asks quotes from every dealer in X mile radius. You can also tell he will be VERY sour from the fact that you are capable of using the internet.
4- As soon as they realize you have half a brain and looked up invoice pricing, both of these employees will turn really really angry, unfriendly, and passive-aggressive. The fact that you want to make an informed decision will be faced with all of them literally walking away from you and you standing by yourself by their empty desks.
5- Even though I have spent 30+ minutes in that dealership on multiple occasions, the "boss" never once came over to speak to me. He was only contacted when the sales guys went to ask him about prices. The only time I spoke to him, which is when I decided to approach him, he kept sitting in his chair, did not shake my hand and had a very angry tone.

I hope after seeing this, they won't be able to act so rude anymore. Take your business elsewhere, these guys sure don't deserve it!

I haven't visited this thread for over a year and a half. I'm shocked that dealers are still trying to pull this shit.

Huh WTF i cant go to your place of business and talk you down on price, so why is my price so important. If you're looking to buy a $40,000 car and i want $42,500 for it and you just can't muster up the extra 2500 or $47.00 monthly then i gues you just can't afford it. With that being said keep your opinions to yourself . It's not called gouging its call making aliving because we sell what you want. oh and please respond all you would like to, just remeber tell your department stores that you want a better deal then sticker let me know how far that really gets you

I purchased my SS in 2010 for less than MSRP, at a few bucks more than dealer cost. Basically, I did not run into the dealership like a 20yr. old that just saved up for 10yrs. to buy a dream car my daddy had when I was nothing more than a nut buster.

Took my time, gathered all the cost / price details and made my case for why they should just take a few bucks to do the paperwork.
Once I showed them the facts on paper I obtained from the APA, they sold me the car for what I wanted to pay, happily.

The problem is most people get all ZL1 hyped up excited, and get burnt because they're afraid of walking away from the deal because they want instant satisfaction and bragging rights.
Just walk away, and wait a few more weeks then go back and make a deal.

I waited until the dealer had an SS on the lot to test drive, then I took 2mos. to make a deal with them, after I did all my research and got the APA to provide all the cost / price facts.

The art of negotiation is being in a position of strength, as a consumer you have the upper hand right away, but without the facts in hand you don't know where to start negotiations. Get the facts, and you'll get what you want for what you want to pay.

Gilchrist Chevrolet!
Traded in my fully optioned 2010 2SS/RS. they made money. Bought a GMC Terrain..They made money. Ordered my ZL1 they made a lot of money!

When I ordered my ZL1 I asked if they had a mark-up on it and I was told NO. So I ordered the car, got the build sheet with the price on it with options....Now when I went to sign the papers for it they tacked on 5K to the price. they said it would have been 10K mark-up but I was a repeat customer. WOW, dont do me any favors. My beef is that I had an agreed price on the build sheet but they wont honor it. furthermore, the salesman that wrote up the build sheet no longer works there. I went above the new salesman and contacted the owner of the dealership and he stands behind the mark-up. they wont budge. Im sure it is because they have 5 people right behind me ready to pay the price for the ZL1. its sold no matter what.
