My splitter at work.
I always wondered what the splitter looked like under stress.I had another track day Sun.so set the GoPro to see. This is a boring video, but interesting to see something we cant. My top speed is 140,it appears as the splitter starts to pull away around 90 mph.

Yeah hopefully GM(customer service)will chime in on this one.Since this is marketed as "A TRACK CAR" it damn well better be safe as such.Believe me,if this thing fails while under use there will be one hell of a lawsuit.

I really don't think it's an issue. That looks like flex more on the bumper's part than the actual splitter not being secured properly.

This is not a boring video. Sit back, close your eyes and just listen. That's some ASMR that I love.

Looks solid. Good post.
I'm not worried about mine on my ZL1 coming off, I realize it's built a little different. But for people that are adding after market splitters, get the real deal and make sure you attach it well. I know a guy that bought a carbon fiber one and didn't want so many holes in his car, that half a$$ed the install. Sure enough the first interstate ride that thing flew off and hit a buddy's car that was following him.

Good post. I wonder how much load it can take? If I'm remembering correctly the Z28 splitter can support over 200lbs. I'd say this proves it's functionality.

Side bar question for you....
How did you mount your go pro for 140mph hold? Just the suction cup? I have Black Edition Hero3 and want to start mounting it on my 1LE as well.... Thanks! |

Sidebar...funny.I bought an electrical 4 gang plastic cover and cut it down, and mounted it upside down on my tow hook.I also had to get the tripod mount to mount to the cover.

Boring no. Revealing and educational...absolutely. Nothing a couple more screws/bolts won't fix though. Another place you might like to point the GoPro would be back at the rear diffuser and bumper from underneath. That thing acts like a parachute if you don't use an underbody aero kit of sorts.

Definitely interesting! The ZL1 bumper does this as well. I cant remember where I saw the photo, but there was a ZL1 on track and the splitter was bowed down from the force. Lets ya know it's working!
