Question stainless works 2" header install question?

im getting my headers today and i was just wondering if they have to go on under the car or if you can install them from the top? (do you need a lift or not?) i dont have them yet so i cant look and see if i think they will or not i know just about everything is easier with a lift but is it required or not thanks for the info!!

I have read posts before about people using jacks and stands for headers, obviously it's going to be tighter than with a lift but it can be done. Now whether they go in from top or bottom I'm not 100%, I haven't even looked at the directions for my SW headers that are in the garage but will have a lift this weekend for them, so not too worried Good luck!

The exhaust manifolds go out the bottom. The LT headers go in from the bottom.

Put my headers on with the car on jack stands, everything comes out and goes in from the bottom. Its is a very strait forward install and can be done in less then 3hrs

Go in from the bottom and fit like a dream. I had no problems at all.

If you have access to a hoist do it their...definitely a lot easier with a hoist. It can be done no problem without one...but if you have the option to do it on the hoist it would be worth the wait. Doing stuff on your back is never as easy as standing comfortably under a hoist.

You will also need an extra hand. It is much easier if one person holds the header from the bottom while the other person is at the top lining up the header gasket and bolts.

ok everyone is right they go in from the bottom but i have another question the company that i ordered the headers from said that they come with rtv sealant mine didnt come with the sealent they say not to use the gaskets, why?? the highest temp sealant i could find was 700 degrees thats not going to be no where near high enough for headers do they send special sealant with the headers for headers? it doesnt make any sence to me. why can i not use the factory gasket the holes are the same size as the headers are and they are not hert at all!! i am installing them right now and i am ready to put the headers on i am going to use the gaskets unless someone tells me not to and why. thanks for the help again.

I suggest you use New OEM gaskets with NO RTV sealant.
