SS heated seats.

The drivers seat electric heater on my '10 Camaro SS turns off automatically after
less than a minute. It Never really heats up. Does anyone know if there's a manual
adjustment for the thermostat, or is it not working correctly?
I can't find anything in the owners manual. It was 19 degrees outside AM today.

Sounds like a crimped wire or maybe an element went out completely. Mine does the same thing. Link another member sent me for diy crimped wire fix: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=271981
I haven't had time to try it. I have an extended warranty, I might go that route. Good luck.

Thanks so much. Guaranteed that's the problem but I think I'll pass on
repairing it due to the work involved. I was hoping that it was just a blown
fuse or something simple. Plus I go to Fl now every Feb, March, April.

I've had that problem since I bought my car and took it to the dealership 3 times and it still doesn't work. They have replaced the wires, replaced the whole heat unit in the seat and still can't figure out why it's not working.

Thats why I'm just going to live without a heated seat after I see what's involved.

I might be doing the same, living without. I never really used it anyway, maybe a hand full of times. I just like the idea of everything working as it should.

I would never leave my car at a dealer for anything. So many horror stories of guys getting their cars back
worse than when they brought them in. Poor repairs or unrelated damages or an additional 90 miles, etc.

Plus I don't think I've used the seat heater 5 or 6 times in 7+ years.

Yeah, I have only left it there during the day for oil changes and picked it up after work. But definitely afraid they would destroy the leather trying to fix this issue.

I had this happen to me a cpl years ago. Its a pretty simple fix. Pull the seat back cover off, follow the wire, find the crimped/short. Re-splice it and good to go. Pulling the seat cover off was the hardest part of the whole job. Just be take your time when doing everything and you should be good to go. There was a DYI thread here somewhere, not sure if it was the same one posted above, as I didnt click on it. But search for it and follow the steps and that should help you.
