You all know the story... friend has a G35 coupe, thinks the weight difference will overcome the power difference (3600lbs vs 100hp)

Personally, I think my SS takes the G35 coupe and has its way with it... but since I still only have around 250 miles on the car, I dont know it THAT well yet so I will defer to the authorities.

Do I bet a steak dinner on it?

I wont be racing anytime soon (local drag strip fires up here before too long though), with so few miles on the car I have only hit WOT a couple of times for very brief shots and want to break in the engine before going balls out for any real amount of time.

Stock for stock you would walk all over a g35.

Camaro v6's vs a g35 would be a "close" race

The G35 is around 14 sec 1/4mi, the SS is about 13 sec.
So your SS should beat the G35 by about the same margin that a 12 second car would beat the SS (like a Z06 corvette).

Your car is definitely faster - the question is whether or not you are faster (but you would have to screw up pretty bad and the race would have to be really short)

For reference a good estimate on weight vs. horsepower is 100lbs equals 10HP. So he has a 300lb advantage which roughly equivilates to 30HP. You have a 100HP advantage with his +30HP advantage because of weight you still have 70HP over him. Your friend is crazy, is he still in school? If not he should sign up for night school and get refreshed in mathmatics 101.

I am thinking I will start down-talking the SS for a week or two... bait him into doing something stupid... look for the "i bet you $100.00 I can take you" ... then set the bet and let the thrashing begin.

with the L99/A6 in sport mode with launch control, I am not sure how anyone could be a bad straight line racer... maybe just horrible reaction times...
