Shifting into second

I have a 2SS 2010 sometimes I have a problem shifting into second gear and have to go into third instead. Is this a problem anyone else is having?

Skip shift maybe? Lol. Gas saving measure. Do a search on GM skip shift.

Are you talking about the Skip Shift feature, or is it grinding?

Skip shift... a little shift pattern symbol comes up on the dash. You can get a cheap little doohicky to plug into the trans harness to eliminate that. Search skip shift eliminator, many of the vendors here can get you one.

Mine will display a message when the transmission is getting hot that forces me into 1st to 4th mode until it cools down, but you have to be running her hard for that. I have a 6 speed with short shifter though. No problem at all shifting into second though.

The wife has the same problem when she drives I thought it was something I was doing. It just happens more than it should. One thing for sure I love my Gen-5.

That's CAGS. Nothing to do with the tranny temp.

Many times when shifting into 2nd at high RPMs it just won't go!

I've been embarrassed more than once when this happens.

mine hits 2nd everytime, the only time I had an issue before was prior to the skip shift eliminator being installed.

Hardest gear to hit in my opinion for a new driver would be 3rd. It took me awhile to really get used to third. Now any gear is a breeze.

The skip shift eliminator sounds like the solution. I'm sixty years young and been driving sticks for over forty years. Real hot rods have three pedals.
