Tidbits... What class should I run in?
If your camaro is all stock, your class should be FS or F-Stock. To remain in this class, you can't change the wheel size or modify your suspension. A supercharger or turbo will also prevent you from running in this class. F-Stock includes most Camaros, Mustangs, GTO. G8, Infinity G37 and the Nissan 300ZX. I run either SM (Street Modified) which includes WRX and EVO's that run circles around me or OSP (O-Street Prepared) which only has one requirement, your car has to be registered and street legal. Please check all info posted here to make sure that the series you run in follows these rules. Most clubs go by SCCA rules which can be found online.

Tidbits... Who can help me out if I want to run Sacramento area events?
Rick Ramirez runs a 2010 SS and a 2002 Camaro Z28 in the Sacramento SCCA series, he also attends SF Bay Area SCCA events and is a great F-Stock driver. I believe he's on here somewhere and I will add his user name once I find it. Look him up at the Sacramento events, he's a great guy!

Tidbits... What do the courses look like?
Most courses can be run in second gear, I have even used first in some of the tighter courses. I have tons of videos on my youtube channel that give you vantage points from on top of the car, the grill, the side, behind and in front of wheels and even underneath the car. You really have to check out some of my under car footage, you would be surprised on how much the stock rear subframe bushings or the tires on the wheels move.

You can see my youtube channel by searching for "skavros" or my videos by searching for "skavros camaro".

Also to add to Steves info, just an FYI that organizations like SCCA are catered more towards smaller cars. I've ran a few events, and for the most part the track is just too skinny for our wide cars. Over the past season they have gotten better at widening the course though.

Once I went to an American AutoX event, i was hooked, the course is so much wider, and there are quite a bit of mustangs, camaros, challengers and vettes that have an easier time on the course. I believe UFO also does events that have larger courses than SCCA.

UFO still has tight small courses, SCCA has really stepped it up to welcome our big cars. Check out my your tube video of the last event.

Video of four of my runs from last Sunday's SCCA event. You really need to toss these two ton cars around the course.

For the record I'm very serious about this. I just spent the past few months getting quotes on rollbars so I could hit the real track. Ave cost is $2800 installed. I'd rather use it on tires and brakes etc due to AutoX~
