a good run on a 2010 gt is 13.3 a good run on a camaro ss is 12.8 that is a 0.500 difference, just like 12.8 to 12.3 is an 0.500 difference so basically the difference in the camaro to a gt isnt as big as it should be.....

Obviously you don't see the logic in my post. Poor guy. If you read through my posts, I'm a fan of the new camaro. I actually don't like the 2010 mustang gt. Chevy has hit a home run. Great performance for the price tag and great styling cues. But to compare a 2010 Camaro to 2010 GT500 is really reaching. Then a "camaro fanboy Mrcowboy" making a comment about a hennessey camaro, being fair. lol. At least I'm not making things up to argue a point.

And I agree with you completely as far as the comparison goes. |

Everyone can argue bang for the buck and such. Honestly, money isn't the end of say all either, neither is performance. So to each their own. Back on the thread subject. Some people really need to educate them selves on both cars. GT500 is a car that would beat a Camaro ss, end of story. Just depends on how deep your pockets are. Just like a new z06 would be a gt500, etc. Speed costs money, how fast do you want to go..and do you want to go fast looking good in comfort or in a pile of rattling plastic.

In the 250 miles I've driven it this week, I am extermely pleased. It is significantly better, IMHO, than the '07-'09 GT500's in almost every way. |

Hoping to get in a Camaro this weekend and see what it got. Should be interesting. It has upgrades on the way, but I am a bit concern about the driveline. Guess we will see what happens. |

Out of all the new Camaros that have Maggies on them so far - how many have had drivetrain problems? Zero - I think. I agree that the CamaroSS is slower than the GT500. The GT500 is a beast of a car, no doubt. I like the looks of them myself but I like the Camaro a little better. Thats why I went the LPE route. After it is all said and done I got the car, suspension, exhaust and LPE out the door for less than $50k. Now, does it have forged internals? No. Does it need it for 530 - 550 rwhp? I doubt it... Most tuners arent doing it at this level - they must know something. Now when you get over 600rwhp, then maybe.
There is no doubt to me that the GT500 is a good value for what you get. Will I like my LPE Camaro even more - probably!!!! |

Yea if I had a lower vin SS I would be nervous about that tailshaft issue. Probably would just get a 2011 and hope all the issues have been worked out.

(FYI... a stock 1SS MSRP $30,245 + HPE550 installed is $14,950 or LPE570 is $10,995 = $45,195 or $41,240 for LPE)

Please don't take this as a smartass question, but what about the Camaro made your friend want to switch cars? I have driven both, and while I am a fan of the new Camaro's, I'd be really interested to know what it is that your friend felt the 2010 GT500 lacked that he would gain by buying a SS.
