What kind of ss cobalt??

And i just read the first page and honestly it doesn't supprise me a bit that the auto's are a little (if not MUCH) slower then the manual's my old 2.4l cobalt was an auto and those ran almost a second slower then the manual 2.4's and with the camaro's add another 26hp that could easily beat at least a half second since both manual and auto are 6 speeds and the 2.4 cobalts are A4 and M5. Just thought i'd put my input in there.

THE AUTO NEEDS A TUNE, PERIOD. My auto is a different car now. It was nice stock, but now The first thing the guy who did my tune said was how much room he had to work with on the ECM. Don't even get me started on the TCM. To be honest my tuner is wary about how much abuse my tranny can take with no Torque Management. There is no doubt the M6 is more durable than the A6. For now though I would put my tuned auto up against any GT or SS. Also from my experience, you need to turn both TC and ST off to achieve the best launch in the auto. As long as you get a good burnout the Perelis are going to grip just fine at the track. As for the M6, I would guess that using "launch control" works best for you. I don't know if it matters, but my car had a silver "GM Performance Division" tag embedded under the hood. I would assume that all SS's have this but the dealer said it was the only one they have seen.

lol my balt has one of those badges under the hood and if the camaro's "launch control" is anything like the cobalts then you could launch better without it.

Yeah, with the TC on it really pulls power off the line. Basically ruins the launch. My tuner makes a cool tune for the cobalt. I think his new tune allows for a swap from factory to performance with a push of the TC button.

Actually...my 1993 Camaro Z28 took a lot 'Vettes in the 1/8th mile (we don't have any close 1/4 mile tracks), so it's not so hard to believe that a 2010 SS could take a Vette. That may have been the maro's best run of the day and the vette's worst, or maybe it just won. Stranger things have happened.

Trifecta performance up in Washington. I am working with Vince on the Beta tune for the L99. He mentioned this to me the other day.

I see. Well good luck. I am in the same boat as my tranny tune will not be fully done before he leaves. Still he is an awesome guy to work with, you'll enjoy it.
