The dealer may just not know very much. That doesn't mean pricing will be high, but I would keep an eye open for other dealers anyway. Be glad that you know more than the dealer. Most dealers simply do their jobs by selling cars. You'll already know enough to make the process shorter and avoid having them go back and forth asking other salespeople about options, pricing, and specs to answer your questions.

I spoke to a dealer and manager briefly about the Camaro back in February when we purchased our Equinox Sport.
Their reasoning for not having a lot of knowledge (at that time) was that they have more than enough models already available that they have to educate themselves on. They don't really have the time to follow an as-of-yet unavailable vehicle. Makes sense, imo. |

maybe i'm a different kinda person, back when i worked in the local hardware store I tried to learn as much as I possibly could to help people w/ their stuff and whenever a new product was in the midst my co-workers and i would check it out.
I got 'Gorilla' taped to a pole (good stuff!) bug zapped (cheap thing broke fast) tested every power tool of course (milwaukee is my fav) bought numerous knives (small selection, but the gerber was the best) and of course any register-side snack food. i was always taught knowledge is power, if i sold cars i'd sit in them instead of an office until a customer came by. |

You're going to get a ridiculous allotment for the Camaro based on your sales.

You order from us, you pick up by you. Receiving dealers charge us a Predelivery fee of USUALLY $200...if they get bold, they may charge more which would be added to the price. Key is finding the dealer in your area we can work with.....and we'll help you with that.

I say buy from Camaro Scotty and have the car shipped to your local dealer. He's knowledgeable about the car we're all interested in, and he's always willing to help us. And, there's a good chance his price will still be less than Coggin's, even with the delivery charge.

each dealer has a waiting list for their first allotment of camaros right? if i order from Scotty, will i be on his list or since its being sent to my local dealer- coggins list?
(i will most likely drop ship from Camaro Scotty because...well because he IS camaro scotty lol. but i've worked w/ this guy @ my dealership twice w/ my friends' cars and I think he deserves at least a chance at my business he's a good guy) |
