'69 Door & Dash Emblems Mod

I added the '69 Camaro Deluxe Door emblems and Dash Emblems to my Camaro - pictures below.

I got the emblems from Ground-Up - links:

Door Emblems - 2 at $21.95 http://www.ss396.com/mm5/merchant.mv...ORPANELEMBLEMS

Other door emblems in case you want a different look - http://www.ss396.com/mm5/merchant.mv...ORPANELEMBLEMS

Dash emblem 1 at $24.95 (Note - the dash emblem isn't different from the door emblems so IMO its better to get 2 sets of Door Emblems if you want to follow my mod - http://www.ss396.com/mm5/merchant.mv...Code=DASHPANEL

As with the other '67-'69 emblems these come with posts which need to be sawed-off, nubs sanded down so they're smooth and 3M Automative tape applied. One layer of 3M tape trimmed to lay in the main body and two strips cut for the curve of the "C" worked well for me.

While I researched pictures of where these were originally on the '69 door panels I tried to place them where they looked good to me on my ride. I didn't want the door emblem stuck in the middle of the door so this placement looked to be the best to me. The '69 Dash emblem is next to today's RS emblem.

The RS emblem is # 92228473 from http://www.gmpartsdirect.com list price of $15.39 each, their price $9.44 each. I used two other RS emblems on my hood cowl.

For our SS trim members your part numbers are: 92228474 white "SS" rear compartment lid nameplate; 92228475 red "SS" rear compartment lid nameplate. These are at the same prices as indicated above for the RS nameplate I ordered.

I think this is a good subtle interior mod linking our Camaro to its '69 heritage. Enjoy...

It's a nice touch.... but I think the RS should be slightly lower and on the same plane as the "amaro" on the dash and not centered since the script is not. Also the script on the door panel are a lil' too much with the dash accents. Just my .02

Thanks all - I agree with the comments and thought the passenger side would be too much - I'll post where I place the door emblems.

As for the Dash I realized that I had previously placed the RS not centered in the trim, didn't appear obvious until I tried to center the Camaro - I'll be adjusting this as well.

I appreciate the feedback - that's why we post and get the good and "needs improvement" feedback from our members.

I think it can look great. I would just put it on the dash instead of the door panels too but thats just my opinion. I like the old school camaro badge a lot though. Looks nice man!

I moved the door emblems away from the dash trim - I think this looks better. I also corrected the RS so its more symmetrical to the "Camaro".

Good thing I had lightly applied these so I was able to move them without leaving an residue.

Thanks again all for the comments.

Awesome. Just that little bit makes a huge difference IMHO. And the more I look at it I also like the door emblems. Very nice job.

Thanks Outlaw - I appreciate the feedback. It looked over-done before when I was going for subtle, this is better.

I like, I think I will use a white SS emblem since I'm anal about colors, but this looks very nice.

My wife is gonna beat me, im up to about $300 just in emblems, inserts, and little bitty cosmetic mods.

Thanks Karnage541 - the Camaro on the doors looks better in person - especially given the curve of the door trim where I put it the second time - so I'm leaving it for now.

Where in NJ are you - North, Central, South?
