Oil Recommendation from Dealer?
I went to ask my Service department a question and see their prices for Oil Changes and They wanted:
$79.99 + Tax for Mobil 1 and he recommended AC Delco Synthetic Blend instead which was I believe $49.99 or $59.99 + Tax I believe it was $50, about a $30 difference from Mobil 1. I don't know much about the blend, but I see many threads and most people seem to only go for Mobil 1, but I was wondering if this would be good enough or not good or what? It's $30 and I'm not too worried about it, but it adds up and I've always seen my parents cars and $20-$30 Oil Changes and they all run tip top so not sure if it's really necessary but only the best for my Car. |

It's a semi-synthetic. It meets the dexos spec for warranty purposes, but that doesn't mean much as far as performance. The most recent UOA's confirm that. So, I would recommend Mobil 1 because not only does it exceed the dexos spec, it is a full synthetic, and is a far better performing oil.
