new driveshaft
Had an accident a month and a half ago where someone backed into my front right fender. I told the body shop i was hearing a noise after the wreck. When i got the car back, i was still hearing the noise. It's like a squeaky rattling from the front of the car. I took it back to the body shop after two weeks. the body shop guy said he had no idea what it was so he took it to the chevy dealer. chevy dealer is now replacing the driveshaft under warranty.....i don't see how it couldn't be related to the wreck or how the body shop guy convinced them of that....but oh well

Sounds like a clearance issue or wheel hub bearing tweaked.
You have pics of the damage?

They have been heving a hell of a time with driveshaft problems on the early production cars. The original design had some bad dimensions and there was a bearing issue. GM was supposed to inform anyone who had a car with the bad lot of shafts, but several people have fallen through the cracks. You may have had the defective shaft. The accident was just their means of identifying it. Or it could be that they changed it because they knew the driveshaft has been a problem in the past. Hope it all gets fixed up!

I broke my drive shaft last week. Thank goodness it didn't cause any damage. My chevy dealership was the best ever. They ordered a new driveshaft Friday night and my car was done by noon on Monday.
