which road and track tire would you choose.

I have Bridgestone RE 11s and am tempted to try Michelin Super sports but heard the aren't as good as the Bridgestone on track. What's your opinion on this.

I love the Michelins on the street and track. They are pricey and I am only doing Autocross though. I also don't put a lot of miles on my car as I live pretty close to work.

Both are exceptional. I know Pedders had the best luck with RE 11s. My friend chunked a set of brand new Super Sports when we did a track day in cold weather (30 to 60 degrees as the day went on). But many others have tracked them with great success, so I blame the cold temperatures on the chunking. I like the 300 tread wear rating on the Super Sports. Can't go wrong with either, choose your favorite flavor.

Did he put a few moderately-driven street driving miles on them and let them set overnight first, as a sort of DIY heat-cycling treatment?

I need to do this for my R888s before I take them to the track.....

I've got NT-05s on a set of 20" rims for the street and auto-x...(Toyos r888s on 19s will be for the big tracks)....I think when the NT-05s are gone, it will be time to bump up to Michelins....The Nt=05s are ok, just not the best for the street and wetness once they get worn down.....

Just received the 305 30 19 ADO8R 11.7" threadwidth vs. RE11 Bridgestone 10.4" actual real world dimensions. Almost 1.3" wider threadwidth than RE11s. Will post comparison pics. Later.

Yes, we drove for 4 hours to the track the night before the track day. Not the typical 24 hour rest period you'd give an R compound, but at least it was something. I think it was the cold temp that caused the chunking, plus he drove the wheels off of it.

Did you mount ado8r on the factory 19. Im lookin for tires for the factory 19 inch and coming up short on the weight capacity. Shop says 104y is factory and dont drop below 101 or tires will be useless.

Zl-1, 1LE Goodyears are 100 y. Other vehicles in our weight category such as the GTR has lower as well. The 302 30 19 tires are 102 rating. 97Y and 100 Y for the GTR. And these are going on my Forgestars CS5V 19x11"s, because Yokohama is true to their claim I will use their 275 35 19 in front. That tire is similar in contact patch width to the Bridgestone RE11s 305 30 19.
