Two ZL1s up for grabs in NJ

Hey everyone,

I just want to let everyone know that I stopped in to my local Chevy dealer to see how much I could get for my 2011 2SS and to talk to them about maybe getting a 2013 ZL1 down the road.

I was shocked to find out they have a 2012 black on black with carbon and a sunroof on order for the showroom. I was even more shocked to find out that they still have one allocation open. After crunching some number both option where to rich for my blood. So I figured I would let everyone know in case people are still looking.

The dealer is Hawthorne Chevy In Hawthorne NJ. Here is a link to there site. Good luck!

I have done the same thing with my dealer. Trying to trade my 2010 SS, and when you see the numbers . I hope in 2013 I can pay it off in full, do a private sell and go in fresh on the ZL1.

Yea thats what I am thinking... they said I could get 29-30g for my car... IOM 2SS W/ IOM Int and GFX painted to match ohh and a sunroof. I just hit 8000 miles. Still have about 17g left to pay so thats killing my trade in.

Isn't it amazing how proud dealerships are of a new car, or even used cars on their lot, but not so proud of your used trade-in?

I will say there are a few exceptions. I have a buddy that received a mail notice from a local dealership stating they would be interested in purchasing his truck. He figured it was a come on but went anyway. They offered him $18000 cash for his truck (no strings attached) and he sold it to them. Wonders never cease!

Their famous words are "nobody is looking for these right now" "this fill in the blank will just sit here" "these are going at auction for 4 to 5K less than blue book" etc............. O and never bring up blue book it means NOTHING to dealers. The best program is probably the auto trader that gives you a good estimate on what your trade is worth to most dealers.

Here locally in AZ I was told by my dealer that dealers are flooded with rental Camaros for sale. I'ts driving the prices down maybe this is going on in other markets as well. I want to trade in my 2SS to help with sales tax but I do not want to give it away.

When i talked to them they said that they will be only "slightly" above MSRP. However they might work with you if you committed to buying one. Remys hit me up through pm if you decided to go through with it. Would you being going with the black one or would you use their spot to build your own?

Also J.R. was my sales rep when I got my 2SS he is a great guy to work with.

GOOD LUCK!

Yeah he initially said like 1 or 2K over, but if thats the case I will wait for a 13 from the dealer near me and keep the extra money . No I want the allocation so I can order a CRT.

As I browse the C5 site, it seems to me that alot of Allocations for the 2012 ZL1 still exist.... very interesting, seems to be not a big of a seller as was thought.... I would luv to see how many 2012 ZL1s are expected to be made compared to how many they actually sell... I might be in line for one sooner then later...
