1LT/RS?

I was wondering something. Do any of you know is it cheaper to order a Camaro or is it cheaper to buy it off the lot. I plan to get one in April... A 1LT/IOM/RS. Has anyone gotten one like the one I am wanting to get. Did you get a good price? Any info would be appreciated thanks

where im from the dealer in my town only keeps 1 or 2 in stock and marks them up so its cheaper for me to order one, but if you have a bigger dealer that carries like 30 or 40 in stock they can make you a good deal on one. depends on the dealer

It all depends on the individual dealer and if they need to move some cars off their lot.

The ground effects and your rims alone is what like $7k?

If you're looking to get a manual 1LT RS, you will likely have to order, as most V6's on dealer's lots are autos.

Another thing to think about is the increase in pricing in 2010 according to dealers. Of course it may be a scare tactic too. Other incentives that are fact is a big change in GM employee/family discount and the tax write off for buying a new car in 09.

I work for GM and was planning on purchasing the 2011 Greeney special edition. But now, with the deleation of the GM discount for GM employees for the first time ever, I'm going to have to re-think this. I just might not be able to afford the special edition, or the RS package, if I were to get another color.

If I could afford a car today, and I mean today, I would save about 2K. Next week, big bucks.

It all depends. I placed $500 down and ordered a 2LT/RS package and was told 3 - 4 months till it would be finished. Kept checking around and the first week of Dec found a 2LT/RS ABM in Southern CA. BUT, after many, many hours of talking to family, wife, kids and looking at hundreds of Camaro pics, had ordered and decided on getting a RY with black rally stripes. The ABM had no stripes. It was about the same price as the one I ordered and we thought about taking it.

So I found that ABM one online and was checking it out and decided to check my dealership where I placed my order. Low and behold they had a 1LT/RS with all the options/equipment I wanted in RY with black stripes. This was the exact car I ordered but with NO leather, and NO center gauges, pretty much all the rest, identical. Went in, saw the RY (and forgot about the ABM), beautiful. Test drove it, and checked on the ETA of my order from the factory. Asked the wife, you wanna get this 1LT/RS now for about $3000 cheaper, or wait 5 weeks for my order to come in. She said, "F*ck it, lets get this one now."

So, I ended up getting pretty much the exact same car, $3000 less, and 5 weeks early. So it pays to hunt around. The leather and gauges were not worth the extra $3000 for me.
