Custom V6 headrest embroidery idea.

So, I plan on embroidering my own headrests with this C logo.

I practiced by putting it on a very tightly wrapped pillow form, to simulate the headrest (because I won't be able to take the cloth off it). It came out like this.

What do you all think of it?
- Xanthos

P.S. - And yes I realize they aren't perfectly matched - I'd take a bit more time to match up the one I put on my car as well as matching the driver and passenger seats.

P.P.S - I may be willing to do something similar for others in the south central area for a nominal charge, depends on how much time I have after the car comes out.

IDK, I'm gonna give you my honest answer so here it goes...

I hate it, I'm trying to imagine it on the head rest and I just don't think I like it.

Not trying to be mean, just telling you my first impression.

Did you do that by machine, or by hand?
If you did it by machine...I'd be willing to make up a simple, clear digital image you could use...

By hand. I'd do it by machine but I can't think of a way to get the cloth off the headrest and back on without it being visible that I did it.

hmmm.....

...What if I still did it, and you printed it out as a pattern, or stencil? You could embroider through it, and then tear it off when you're done. It should result in a perfect duplication of that "C"

This might actually work - I'd need the pattern to be about 8 inches tall.

Right now I've been drawing it on with chalk, embroidering over, and then washing it after.

Hi! Thought I would throw this out...

You could take the headrests to an upholstry shop where they could unstitch them for you and you could work on the flat pieces of material. Then take your finished work back to them and have them restich the headrest.

WAY more than I'll be able to afford.

I'm barely going to be able to get the car, much less pay somebody to do upholstery work on it for me.

I like the C but I would rather have the more modern block CAMARO letters.
The C would be cool on a 2nd or 3rd gen

I've actually kinda been thinking the same thing about it lately.

Was debating on doing this -

but just the outlines in all black.

I'm really open to anything at the moment. As long as its distinctly camaro/chevy related. Also going back and forth on using LT.

But anything too blocky becomes instantly more difficult because you get to a point where a single line no longer works, and you have to start filling in space.

If you're thinking of LT and like the old school stuff how about you try something like this.

Maybe...

What if I stacked the two letters on top of each other... Like

L
T

and just stretched them out sideways a little. I think they would fit the shape of the headrest better that way...

I'll give it a whirl.
