Sorry if this is off topc really didnt kno where else to ask this .After hearing about another shooting in Colorado I'm determined to get a CCW license how does it apply for a tri state area you have to one in each individual state correct? And I dont even think you can carry in DC at all. Do you have to be a resident of Va to get one if you live in say MD or vice versa?

You can get one in VA easily.

If you do any traveling I would consider getting your CCW for the State of Utah... Your covered damn near nationwide then. Get in contact with FreeState Gun Range in Middle River, MD

Annnnnnnddd... Good luck with trying to get one in MD. All I will advise is to know where gun ranges/Firearm Dealers are located and know what times they close and keep your ammo and firearm separate while in the vehicle.

I didnt know about Utah yea Im prior Military I use to carry in Arizona there laws was a little more lenient than out here. Thanks for the info!

People are saying good luck for MD, but there is no CCW in MD is there? Even if there is and I don't know about it, what I do know is there is no reciprocity for VA. And DEFINITELY do not drive through DC with it. None there.

I put it that way for the C5 PoPo on this forum. Its not illegal to transport your firearm to either of the two... Just sayn...

Yeah they have a CCW for MD but its gonna take an Act of GOD to get it approved.

Yea I don't have to worry about that, cause I never go back into DC after work! The sad thing is, I was actually excited to move here and work where I work in DC....now I'm like everyone else, can't wait to get back across the bridge back into VA!

OP, if you are going to carry state to state....better to get/apply a federal carry license....which will allow you to move across state lines. Not saying I would jam you up for carrying here if you at least have a permit for CCW in your home state....after all if they let you why would anyone else care....but thats just me. Some states are just ignorant with their laws....don't punish the criminals worth a f--- for carrying or using them illegally but hamper the good guys from carrying all together. There are even a few states that get pissy with off duty LEO's carrying and its a freakin' federal law. UGH

In ohio once you get your permit you can add PA. to it and it will allow you to carry in all but 8 states. DON'T get caught in DC, Chicago or NY.
