Rev limiter

Hey I have a 2014 camaro 2ls I really hate the rev limiter on my camaro but I was wondering if I take off the limiter I won't have any other problems like
Having my engine explode. Please tell me if it's a good idea or no

So the nice thing about removing the rev limiter being is that we can go faster and can rev higher, obviously. But lets say you accidentally down shift from 4th to 2nd going 50-65 you can indeed wreck your engine, because you wont have that rev limiter as a safeguard. To do this, you would need to have your car tuned.

My recommendation is to tune the car after doing a few mods, like exhaust and CAI. Then you will wake up the car a good amount. With the tune you can ask for the rev limiter to be removed. Just be careful if you plan to do burnouts/what not and watch your rpms. I would never let my car go past 6250 rpms unless I was doing a power run on a dyno with a Forced induction build. Hopefully my ramblings help you.

The stock rev limiter should be 7000. You can push it to 7,250 but you won't be making power unless you have a centri supercharger.

More revs won't make it louder.....

That doesn't even make any sense. Let's blow the engine just so it's louder once.

Are you talking about the limit imposed on automatic trans cars where you can't rev it up much sitting still in park or neutral?

To rev to the redline (still "rev limited") you will need a tune. All automatics limit how high you can go, presumably to protect the trans in case you slap it into gear while making a lot of noise!

More rev will let it be louder only if it's in N, remember we v6 with auto tran can't rev the car high at all in N, once I got it removed it was nice to be able to show off my exhaust set up in N around 5k rpm
