NO HUD on a 2010 no matter what the designation.

A 2010 2SS contains key 1SS equipment PLUS:

Boston Acoustics 9-speaker 245 watt radio system
Bluetooth
Cargo convenience net (I think it became an option on 2011-up models)
DIC compass
4-pak guages
auto dim rearview mirror
power/heated outside mirrors with driver auto dim
Wireless PDIM
Remote vehicle start (L99 only)
leather front seat trim with SS embroidery (All SS's had leather steering wheel and shift knob)
heated front seats
steering wheel audio controls
universal home remote
USB port

Does the SS have HUD? If not than that is a difference too

Um, you guys forgot they added the rear back up sensors mid year to 2LT & 2SS. I wanna say it was Q1 2010, about 9-10 mos after production started. That is the only way to tell a second level trim model from the outside that I know of.

Well I just purchased a 2013 2SS RS... And It has all the upgrades GM could offer! The 1 thing I really wanted and doesn't have is a sunroof. If anybody is getting a SS I would suggest to get a 2SS.

It was late 3Q 2009. End of August they announced that cars built after August 30 that you had to change you order to reflect the b/u sensors. I got them for free since mine was on order since May, but they jacked the price up for those ordering after late August. And you could also get them on the 1LT w/SRJ package.

When I purchased last year, I went in wanting a 2SS RS 6m.
Prices were all higher than I wanted to spend, above $40k.
Looked at and almost decided on a 2LT RS.
Salesperson showed me 1SS RS, 6m, rear view cam, price was the same as the 2LT RS's.
Bought it a week later and have been happy ever since!

After purchase I added the gauge pack and the PDIM module.

Why not just make it an SS and start adding options from there?

Excuse me? A 1SS is "half ass" because it doesn't have heated leather seats and a small cluster of guages that are somewhat difficult to read?

I decided on a 1SS specifically because it did not have those two features. I don't like leather seats. I don't need heated seats in south GA. The guage cluster takes away the only easily accessible open storage space for glasses, cell phone, pens, etc.

The difference between my 1ss/rs and a 2ss was 7 or 8 grand at the time. The only thing mine didn't have compared to the 2ss was the guage cluster ($300), PMID/Steering wheel controls (head unit would have cam out anyway for custom setup), and leather (1-2k for a good shop to install custom patterned leather). I even got a sunroof.
