Can someone explain the spare tire option

I am looking at a 1SS and it appears that it does not come with a spare tire; it is an option. I would like to have a spare and wanted to know the RPO code and how it fits in the car; that is will change anything drastic compared to another 1SS that does not have the spare option. TIA!

A spare tire is a 150 dollar option, (N65) and there is a well in the trunk floor the spare goes into...

The spare tire option is not available on the SS.

According to the ordering workbook, the spare tire is not available on the SS. http://www.camaro5.com/goods/camaroorderingworkbook.pdf
Scroll down to "free flow options"

N65 is a compact spare, it will not fit on the ss, and the spot in the trunk spare tire on the ss if where the air compressor is. Montrose

Thanks for the replies!

Sorry for the ignorance in the latest tire technology but are any of you not worried about getting a flat?

I'm not. The SS comes with tire sealant and an air compressor so you can get somewhere to get it fixed. Also if you keep Onstar they can send someone out to help you.

That's why AAA is for... This car won't be a daily driver for me so if I get a flat it won't be a big deal.

Sorry that I wasn;t thinking about the SS, I was just thinking about the LS we ordered..

FYI, I have been driving a Saturn Sky with no spare tire since March of 2006...
In May of 2006 I was out at 4 inthe morning, and hit a curb and busted two tires on it, it would not have mattered having a spare or not in that situation, but since then I have not had a need for a spare or to use the sealant.
Just think when was the last time you had a flat? and needed your spare tire?

Save your money. You will have roadside assistance 1-800-CHEVUSA for 5yrs/100,000 miles. They use the same vendor set as AAA.

Hopefully 1-800-CHEVUSA is not as slow as AAA.I waited on the side of the road for a hour, my dad 3 hours one time. Horrible service!!
