Take my car back for these paint defects?

Ok, am I being really picky or should these blemishes get fixed under warranty? I am taking my car in do get my convertible top looked at and over the last two months have found many paint blemishes. Most are self explanatory. There are a few spots where it looks like they didn't get 100% paint coverage and some where it looks like they caked on too much paint. Some spots are in the jams but others are in the seams and roll onto the body panel. There is a couple spots where it looks like trash is in the paint. There is a couple spots where the body gaps are too big and the hood seems to be 1/4" low on the passenger side. There are a couple spots on wheel well where the bumper meets the fender that look like they put the panels on wet and rubbed some of the paint off.

The bad part is that they will probably have to pull off some of my vinyl to repaint it.

What would you do?

I would complain until the cows come home. I hope GM corrects the problems for you but they will give you some sorta bull that we don't see a problem.

Good luck

You paid alot for your car and have the right to correct whatever factory defects you see. Personal advice is that if you have the dealer correct the problems they'll send it to thier bodyshop or to an outside bodyshop and I would proably guantee you will never be happy with outcome. Just drive it and enjoy it. All new camaros have paint defects from the factory & so do the new challangers.

If I could legally shoot people who said this crap I would.

OP - most aren't bad, but the fit of those side skirts wouldn't fly with me either. The hood could be adjusted as well.

The body issues are easy fixes, I would leave the paint issues alone the dealer will only make things worse. good luck & the car looks awsome & how do you like the convertiable.

I made my dealer fix paint defects on my Camaro as did many other Camaro5 members. chevy was having problems with the paint on the Camaro's so i'm sure you're dealer has heard it before. My paint rubbed off after a couple months in some seams where 2 body panels came together. i pointed out to my dealer that there is no way that kind of defect could have been caused by me. let alone in such a short amount of time. they were pretty accommodating and fixed it the next day.

I have a few plaices like that on mine. I also have some bad ones where the bumper meets the body of the car, I guess where it vibrates and is chipping the paint. I'd take yours back for sure and see what you can have done. Good luck! Your cars awesome.

the bumper was a big problem area for the paint. i would take your car and make them fix the chips. that will only expand over time into bald spots on your car.
