Need opinions on 22" tire sizes

Ok, my new wheels come in Thursday and I need to come to a decision on my tire sizes. I've been looking at sizes and options and I'm unsure of the rear tires and trying to make sure of no "Service StabilTrak" codes because of diameter differences.

The fronts will be 265/35. The rear is where my question is. For cost and availability reasons, I'm looking at either 285/30 or 285/35. Before any says anything, yes, I would prefer to do a 295/30 but I can't justify the cost. In the 285 series the tire shop recommends the 285/30.

Playing with the tire size calculator, it seems to me the 285/35 is actually closer in diameter to the front, while the 265/30 is closer to the stock diameter. I would think as far as StabilTrak issues, keeping the front and rear tires closer to the same diameter would be the most important factor. So in a 285 series, which tire should I go with - 285/35 or 285/30?

More playing with the tire size calculator.

The 265/35R22 + 285/30R22 combo is a difference in diameter of .29"

The 265/35R22 + 285/35R22 combo is a difference in diameter of .27"

I'm thinking either would be fine, but the smaller difference would be the combo to go with?

so if I do 275/35/22 up front and 305/30/22 in the rear it is going to screw everything up?

You'd be better off doing 265/35/22 up front and 305/30/22 in the rear. It's a near perfect fit. It would be my preferred combo as well, except I am getting a deal I can't pass up on some Parada Spec-X and they don't make them in 305.

The 275/35 is 3.15% larger than stock. but is probably close enough not to cause problems, but I wouldn't do it when the 265's look and fit perfect.

So you say 25 aspect for rear and 30 fronts? I can see that working just fine

Ok, thanks. I am not too worried about the front sizes so 265 is fine, I just want as wide as I can go in the back without the tires sticking out weird.

I too wanna go with the 265/35/22 and 315/30/22. They look just perfect. to me the 30 and 25 is just a bit too thin.

Will the 315s fit on a 22 x 10.5 rear wheel?

10.5" to 12.5" are recommended for 315's
