Top end build list, would like your opinion(s)

Car: 2011 2SS/RS
Will have roughly 50,000 miles when build is done (late July/early August)

An * means I am unsure whether these parts are needed or just safe to get. Everything else is part of the projected top end build. Give me an opinion of what I am missing to complete the job, the right way. It's a daily driver, so I am not willing to compromise on the dependability of the parts.

102 mm Fast LSX-r intake manifold
102 mm throttle body
Aftermarket fuel rails for 102 mm intake***
Cam shaft itself
Pushrods
Timing chain
Valve springs
Lockers
Valve seals
Aftermarket lifters***
Melling oil pump
Under-drive pulley***
Intake manifold gaskets***
Head gaskets***
Dyno tune

SN-I believe I am going with Tick Performance out of NC for the cam, additional parts and dyno tune as well, still not 100% since I am still working on the needed parts. Input on Tick Performance products/tune is very welcome.

Based on your build I think the FAST intake is a complete waste of money. You will see minimal gain and I think you would see better gains per $ just putting that coin towards porting your existing intake and heads instead.

For the $1000 you want to spend on the FAST102, put that money towards porting and polishing your heads. Great power adder!

Yeah if you talking to Tick, I think Martin S might suggest going into some heads ported by AI, he's a big fan.

Don't forget to do a trunion upgrade
http://www.briantooleyracing.com/btr...union-kit.html

I also recommend Martin at Tick for a cam. The Fast 102/102 TB is also a waste of money that could be used elsewhere with more gain such as ported heads...

Thanks guys. This is the kind of feedback I am looking for. I do have good news, I used to work at Fulton Competition, (Chesnee, SC) where I learned how to deck, port and polish racing heads and intake manifolds. The best part is, I can do it myself, for free. So now that I have an extra 900-1000 dollars from not getting the intake/TB, is there anything missing that I need? (Trunion kit is added to list)

3.91s are not needed but the extra $1000 you have would come close to covering it. One of the best mods I have done. Great build! Congrats!

That is what was on my mind. slightly off track here, but I am going to attack the whole rear end....bushings, tie arms, trailing arms, etc. So I might put the 1k towards the rear end, as a whole.

Also, I will keep this thread active as I get closer to ordering parts, making "that or that" decisions, etc. I look forward to everyone's help here.

front end gaskets for the timing chain swap, ls2 dampener, harmonic balancer bolt, belts for underdrive pulley, two gallons antifreeze, two oil changes worth of Driven racing Br30 break in oil. And a g.m. three bolt sprocket for the cam with bolts.....
