When racing brake fluid should be changed often to avoid water in the brake system. Having a lack of water in the brake system means that the dry boiling point is more important than the wet boiling when selecting a racing brake fluid. A brake fluid with a dry boiling point greater than 534 degrees F should be used in the ZL1 during racing applications.

DOT 5 silicone based brake fluids should not be used for racing applications because they are non-hydroscopic and lack the ability to deal with moisture and will dramatically decrease a brake system's performance.

Buttonwillow is an awesome track...been there a few times on My track bikes I think the ZL1 would be fun since it's a pretty technical track!

69MYSS: what's the name of the organization you signed up through for the open trackday? or was it the track itself that has something posted? Website link?

Incredible I had no idea the car would handle and stick the way that it did. It was so much fun and completely addicting. The G force you pull is crazy, there were countless times I would be slowing coming into a corner thinking, there is no way I am going to stick this corner expecting to slide off, but I didnt. Anybody who has a ZL1 must do a track day. It completely boosted my confidence driving on the streets knowing how well it will stick.

That would be awesome, I too am 1.5 hours away from Buttinwillow in Fresno/Clovis. Where are you exactly in the CV? I will be posting video from GoPro this evening once I figure out how

No organiztion, just go to Buttonwillowraceway.com and look under calendar of events for Open Test days. Any street car can go on Open Test days. You can go full day for $200 or half day for $110. Totally worth the price

Awesome, I love seeing the car used for what it was built for.
