These were complaints from a lot of people and now GM improved on it. Looks like they were listening!

Also I would have to disagree on low end torque. Yes it does feel like there is more pick up than the 5.0...but IMO, it doesn't really pick up until 3.5k or so. I guess it's because of TM.

The transmission CAN be smoother but takes time to practice. But it is a big and clunky transmission so it is what it is.

Overall, I think both cars are great. As a every day driver, I would probably pick the GT. But for looks, it's Camaro all the way....although your GT is pretty damn good looking.
" it doesn't really pick up until 3.5k", Um wanna test drive my 2012 LS3 buddy the torque kicks in way before 3.5k ask me how I know. 2012s seems to have new software changes in the tune. Throttle response is way better than previous years as well and my car is still all stock as far as power mods are concerned. Oh and DEKI I sat in a 2010 GT that had this custom factory discontinued interior with brown leather like a Ferrari I kid you not, the dealership told me that car was ordered with that special leather package and costed like $42k. I almost got that car for $26k after one year but got the 2011 SS I just traded instead. If I find pictures I will post. Those seats were the most comfortable seats I ever sat in and I told the salesman, hey if I don't get approved can I at least keep these seats. He told me later that Ford will not put that grade leather in the future GTs, I guess it was too costly for them to do that.

Yeah I knew that, in fact I got my stuff directly from CDC. I wanted the lower piece though. I got a good deal on the whole package

Nice thread, Deki. Your GT is cool as ice and I can relate to you except I started off first with a Camaro then the Mustang... both 2012 models. Happy with both. Once again good read so TTT!

that is called "Saddle" and is just a color option on the Mustang. nothing special about it at all other than being doo-doo brown. that car would have had to be loaded up to cost over $40k. we're talking nav, heated seats, active anti-theft, convertible top, etc.

Clean Mustang!

Also, a nice, unbiased opinion on both cars, well done!

Thanks man, it's coming along. And I've been a Camaro fan since I moved to the US and first heard the amazing sound of a catless LT1 making sweet sweet sound through an 80 series flowmaster.

Great post! I never really considered the Mustang because I always loved the look of the Camaro. I had a 89camaro v6 rs, Scion tc, and a 2008 WRX (in that order) and was actually torn between an STI or a Camaro SS. Went with looks, RWD and Raw N/A power/exhaust note over superior handling, AWD, and forced induction. Got a great deal on the Camaro and I've always wanted to own a convertible. I've had the 45th SS Convertible for a month now and no regrets.

I can't say that my garage wont ever have another turbo 4cyl in it though...
