If you read the articles the writer is quoting, it paints a different picture. The writer of this article is slanting the news in the direction he wants to for his own shock value.
The total pre-sales v8 mix is still only 26% of the initial 20000 to be built, so I think we are o.k. at this point. One of the articles even mentions this fact although he neglects to include that information. Also, every one of his source articles quotes Camaro-5 as its primary source of information. The other article read correctly while this one is a screw up.:bangdesk: |

His info is missing some info. Car #3 was sold for that much on ebay, for a legitimate charity, not that fruitcake that we busted.

The Article is pointing out that despite the high gas prices (what high gas prices? ) that the majority of Camaros that were pre-ordered were V8's rather than V6's, which i think for some odd reason everyone finds surprising... But GM stated that they will be producing a larger percentage of V6 powered Camaros vs V8 Camaro's but I don't know who anyone is trying to pull on us there's still going to be Camaro SS's out there it's not like there's going to be a huge shortage... well maybe the first three months that the Camaro is out...

Well, I did the math.
84% of the 6000 ordered would come out to 5040 units. 26% of the initial 20000 would be 5200 units. Now I know they'd probably fudge the numbers to fit in all the later coming SS orders..but we're cutting it close now to their quota. This is why I'm waiting to order mine. Going for a Short Throw 1SS and Red Jewel Tintcoat; so I don't think THAT'S coming from the factory.. |

I don't dislike the direct six, but I'm personally not spending my cash for the version that I'd feel like I was only settling for...I want the eight. I'll either get what I want, or I'll do without!

But 16% of 20000 would be 3200....SO in reality they will theoretically be under quota of what we ordered. |

Of course all of the pre-orders are V8's, why, cause enthusiasts are the only ones that would buy a car without test driving it. And for most enthusiasts, they are gonna want the biggest baddest edition out there. We will see when the cars hit showroom floors if that trend will continue.
