Manual vs. Automatic

Interesting....

Our latest infographic, sponsored by our friends at MINI, delves into Hunch data to uncover the characteristics of people who can drive stick shift cars vs. those who can’t.

Interesting, though not very earth shattering info. Instead of manual vs auto you should've labelled the thread as young vs old - that way we can keep the spam down...

I wish have loved a manual transmission, but only the automatics came with remote start and when it's 100 degrees outside, remote start comes in handy (Which is why I got it)

my only thing about this is , its hard to be a true car enthusiast if you dont know or somewhat know how to drive a manual. my good friend who is a enthusiast, doesn't have a manual but really wants one. he is not very good, but has a understanding. and my next car will be auto, but i know how to drive a manual.

The Poll explains all the mystery now and clears up the confusion............I'm defiantely suffering from having a split personality. I can drive a stick shift, but choose to own and drive a large automatic. Noticing of course, the results of the poll where compiled by Hunch, for the company that is generally accepted among and targeting Yuppies, the Mini me folks and by being so, can't be skewed...............

Ability to drive a manual and desire to do so don't overlap perfectly. My dad made sure I learned how to drive stick, but I don't really want to. All my cars have been automatic.

I'm on both sides of that one. Guess that's why I have one of each.

I made each of my four children learn to drive a car that had a manual transmission (no, not my Camaro). And, all four still drive a stick today.. It's my opinion that everyone should know how to drive a stick (especially girls).

So is going "auto" a choice, innate or do most "autos" swing both ways?
