It's on a sticker that has all your codes on it. Lift up your trunk mat, it's under there. If R6P is on it you got it.

what is the significance of the code? does it matter that it is an earley production car? did GM do any mods afterward that makes one more desirable?

It might matter one day when it comes to resale or if this car becomes rare. And it might not mean one single thing other than you went in to order early. Only time will tell, I'm inclined to think it will mean squat. Mine is vin 33534 and is r6p amd there are 1000's of vins lower maybe 10,000's that are not r6p. So 40 years from now if this car is worth anything what's the difference between my car and let's say vin 25000, assuming they're identical and in same exact condition and only difference is mine has r6p, all it boils down to is when I bought mine I went in early to do so. Now if GM could have created a system to guarentee all R6P cars were built first no matter what then we would be talking but that's simply not the case.

Heh, I always wondered what this meant as well. I could see it as being something of value some years down the road though if the car becomes a classic like the 60's and 70's cars are now.
