im having this same issue...im afraid to take to the dealer because they have to rip the entire dash out to fix it...and from experience those dash parts never quite go back in the same

No they don't. Had mine done a few years ago. Was leaving the dealership an hour after bringing it in. Has been whisper quiet ever since...or maybe the exhaust is so loud now, I don't hear it.

My interior fan just started sounding like a pair of squirrels having a party when the weather got 'cold' in LA and I had to turn on the heat because it was barely 60F outside .

Anything above a 5 speed and the squirrels go home

So what is the procedure here is it a warranty replacement?

Glad to have found this thread. Mine has been making the same noise for a few months and I'm just over 30,000 miles. I didn't want to take it in, if it meant pulling the dash but now that I see it can be repaired without removing the dash I'll be calling the dealer tomorrow.

Unfortunately, count me among those with this problem on my 2014 RS (6k miles). I just traded in my 2011 that had the same problem and am really frustrated.

To get my 2011 fixed, it took a total of 8 different trips to 2 dealerships, leaving my car 3 times, fixed twice, and still came back by the time I traded in. They would always have difficulty reproducing it since it comes and goes. I never got a rental car since they said they had to verify it was a warranty repair before giving me one, but by then, I had already arranged rides and it was fixed, so pretty useless.

I really like the car but I don't know if I can stand going through all that again. I'll give the Dealership another shot and see what they can do this go around.

Having this same issue in my 2014. Service guy said he could not hear it when I was for an oil change. I will have to make another appointment.

As far as I know GM has had blower motor problems on and off for the last 10+ years.
I had a 98 Malibu and an 02 Grand Prix that both had blower motor resistor problems.

Car has been at the dealer for two days now. Good news, I guess, is that they agreed that the blower needed to be replaced. Now I'm driving around in a Sonic (loaner).

Have the same problem. Believe I made a thread about it when it first happened years ago.

It comes and goes with certain weather I feel.

My car is at 50k miles and about to hit the extended warrant... not sure if I should have it fixed and risk it or just deal with it..

Dealer fixed it and it sounds great now (quiet). The dash doesn't have to be removed but they did confirm that they have replaced several for other Camaro's recently and all were covered under warranty. The billing time was only 30 minutes but the car sat at the dealer for 4 days. But I was okay with it since they put me into a rental (their expense) while getting it fixed.

Thought it was funny though, the service manager called me and told me they normally wash the cars after being in for more than a day for work to be completed but knew that for me they better ask me first..., I might be "particular about having them wash it". I was grateful and of course asked them to not wash it. I would take care of that myself.
