Which DR's for L99 18"x9.5" wheels?
These wheels/tires will not be daily driven. Only driven to strip (24 miles round trip) and back. So they will have to be DOT compliant.
These are the one's I'm considering. M/T ET Street R 305/45/18 M&H 275/45/18 I see people running both of these tires in varying sizes on different cars at my local 1/8 mile. The M&H appear to have a softer sidewall when watching cars with them launch vs. MT. Both are really good tires though for the strip. Both are priced about the same. Which is the better decision?

I only have experience with the MT DRs and they stick great after a good burnout. I drive with them to the track and usually take them back off unless I'm heading back within a few days or a week. How has Shady Side been? Is it crowded there? Mooresville is getting a lot less crowded and easier to make a few passes in an hour or so. The upcoming cool weather is going to be great.

Kind of off topic, but why an 1/8 mile? Is space an issue in these places?

In the South we have mostly 1/8th mile tracks. I guess they are cheaper to maintain. There are good points as well, because most of your racing is done on the 1/8th and the second half you are just along for the ride. It beats your car up less as well. I like both.

It's still going to be hot this Sunday (86*), and calling for rain the next. The weather here normally cools down after the Cleveland County Fair leaves (1st weekend in OCT) Thanks Brian.

If you plan on street driving a good bit look at the Nitto NT05R. I love mine.

I did consider these Bo, someone who has used both at the strip on a G5 Camaro with same mods I have, found better traction with MT at the strip. I won't be using them unless I'm going to make passes at the strip. Off topic, but the install of the Stage II throttle body was a breeze, got all bolts torqued to 89in/lbs. No codes thrown, throttle lag has been cut down from a launch. If I red light, it's your fault! J/K Quote:
MT ET Street R 305/45/18 will hook with the 3200 stall that's going in next week. If you happen to see or speak with someone with this tire for sale, I'd be interested.

MT's or Hoosiers are the best drag radials.
