anyone running Vred tires? or other options?
Posting this here for the FI crowd to chime in...
I may have set a record for burning through a set of street tires. I switched from my stock PZeros because I knew those wouldn't cut it to a set of NT05 non DR tires. Well...the trip out to Indy and back pretty much did those in. No track days...I got around 2500 miles out of the NT05s. The rears are bald...I mean bald. A few spirited take offs from lights and such, but no track days. They did wear bald nice and evenly though. Anyone running the Vreds on a car with somewhere around my power level? Vreds seem to be popular. I don't need a drag radial for my one or two trips to the track each year but the NT05 non DR won't be going back on my car. They SUCK in the rain and I didn't get any wear out of them. Is my only option to go with a 555R? I don't plan to ever drive in the rain, but the occasional storm happens. Over 40mph, I felt like I was driving a boat. I could feel every corner picking up on the car even when they were new with the 05s.

Im running them with zero issues, instant traction, no slipping, and treadware so far at 2,500 miles and still look new.
I know a few guys here running upwards of 800rwhp with these tires and love them. I know i will be buying these again when needed.

I'm also running them with zero complaints. For a street tire these are hard to beat. Love em!!

Been running them since I put my Maggie on, that's been about 5000 miles. No track time, just street use, spirited at times but mostly just normal in town/highway driving.
I am running right now around 550 rwhp so a bit less then you. Things I have noticed: -Seem to wear very well -Temps below 40 degrees, they get pretty loose -Wet traction, pretty good from what I can tell but do as little driving as possible in the rain so not much to tell you there. -When warm, decent traction, nothing like a drag radial but with the wider rubber, I would say a bit better then the factory 20s. I got these because the price was right, they looked pretty damn cool and I figured I would be pretty hard on them with the new supercharger so wanted to do my playing with a reasonably priced tire on the rears. To my surprise, they have held up much better then I ever expected. They can get flat spots on them if they sit on concrete for more then a few days but nothing serious, within 2-3 miles they round up and drive smooth and vibration free. Pretty happy with them.

I don't currently run them but I ran them for a while. I got around 15,000 miles out of them but I decided to try out some NT555Rs and I've been hooked, literally and metaphorically, ever since. NT05s don't have a long life even without having the power you have. The Vredesteins are a good option if you have to stay on street tires.

Think I may try the Vreds before going to the drag radial. At least it won't take me long to see if I'll wear them out.

depends on weather and driving habits. In sub 35 degree weather or so it will cold tear. Ofcourse burnouts shorten the life faster too and also depends on what you consider worn out. If you drive in the rain you shouldn't let them wear as far as you could if the car never sees rain. But I currently have about 6XXX miles on mine and they have decent life. Probably only 10 burnouts or so but mine do spin 2nd gear and 3rd depending on surface and boost setting.

I had the non drag NT05 on my C6 and I got 6k out of them. The road surfaces are rough around my house. One of my buddies has 15k on his NT05's. Smooth roads though.
I just put Michelin Pilot Super Sports on my C6 after a blower install. At 607/535 they will hook second most of the time stabbing it at 50mph. I have 4k miles on them and they are hardly worn at all and I take off hard a lot. We shall see how they handle 700rwhp plus after today since I just added a cam and smaller blower pulley.

275/40 315/35 20's Ultrac Sessanta. Mid 600's Rear .Great street tire for the buck.Love the tread pattern. Good wet traction when grudgingly caught in the rain. Like RBL said will definitely buy again.
