Trickle Charger

Picked up a battery tender today to put the car to sleep for the winter:(..Where do you think the best hook up would be..in the truck right on the battery posts or use the positive post in the engine compartment..directions say to place the black clamp on the frame or other good ground point...any suggestions..I have never put a car up for the winter before... Winter Noob here.

I hook mine up under the hood. It is only a 1.25 amp charge. When the steady green light is on, you are good to go.

I use one on my motorcycle - they work very well. We also use on on our trolling motor. Under the hood, there is a metal post on the driver's side to connect the ground to. In the trunk, there is the main ground for the car off the battery to hook the ground to.

There is a small stud on the inner driver's side fender next to the air box. I put the neg. cable on that and my tender works just fine!!

Correct! The post next to air box is for jumping or charging.

I have one on my El Camino and so far it works great, before my battery would go dead in about a month if I didn;t remove the cable from the battery... now it stays fully charged.. and I don't loose all my radio settings...

ONE MORE THING!!! The Baterry Tender is a great product. However, the battery MUST be fully charged first!!! What will happen is the Tender will switch to a float mode when it senses 14volts or pretty close to that.

I use a CTEK US3300 smart battery charger, best money I ever spent. I haven't had a DBS in my Vette in over a year
I plan to use in the Camaro also!
