GM must have used some really crappy glue on these. My Camaro was born in April, 2012, sat on the dealer lot for 20 days before I found her and has been garage kept since then. I only drive the car on weekends and evenings and use a Heatshield reflector when I park the car while out and about. I guess what I'm trying to say is it's not like the car has been constantly exposed to high temps. Again, they had to have used some really crappy glue.
The best thing to do in this kind of situation is to contact the dealership and get a proper diagnosis. If you have any issues after they correct it for you, please let us know!

I'm having the same problem with mine as well. I also have a letter about an airbag light to get checked, and my front gfx has gaps. Really don't want to go to the dealer for any of it, was not too happy with my sales experience.... Maybe I'll try to fix it myself.

Well they will keep contacting you about the airbag light. Do you have any other dealers close by you can go to?

Sounds like you have some other issues with the car and GM than just the dash bubbling. I highly suspect that GM suggested that the dealer NOT replace the part at this time, as the issue is NOT resolved, and you WILL be back again because it has happened AGAIN. Makes little to no sense to replace a failed part with another part that WILL fail again. So long as the problem has been documented, that's the best any of us can hope for, until there is a real redesign/fix released. The dash in my wife's 'vert is bubling, but I am waiting until a real fix is released to take it in.

went to the dealer yesterday, there is a service "notice" out that clearly states dealers are NOT to replace this part, and that they are working on fixing the problem. (tech printed it out and showed it to me)

I myself am glad... new one bubbled almost immediately, and the service tech scratched my radio face when replacing it... getting a new "radio face", and dash piece installed once the "fix" is in place... rather not keep taking it in to replace a bad part with a part that will bubble within a couple of weeks.

But it's still a good idea to have the issue documented with the dealer.

He was probably fired for doing just what he is accusing other dealers of doing.... Now seeking to trash GM on this forum.

I said this from the beginning, specifically that it would do no good until they actually make a better replacement part. Crap replaced with crap is, well, crap.

Thankfully mine is not doing this (yet). But, it sits in the garage 85% of the time.

Well at least they have some sort of official notice on it. Replacing with the same part over and over would certianly end up being expensive for GM so they're trying to stem the tide while they work it out. They've got to factor R&D and materials, re-tooling, etc., so it may be a while yet.

It's not a critical part for operation of the vehicle so it's not the end of the world. I'm just glad they're trying to figure it out.

I took mine in this morning to get the bubbling documented. The service advisor confirmed there is a hold on replacements until a proper replacement is available. He said, "GM is aware of the problem and working on a solution."
