I like where you're going with this, and I've considered doing the same with my car. How did you remove the tray? I was going to experiment with a heat gun and see if that would be sufficient to loosen the adhesive, as it'd be nice to avoid cutting it.

Not with normal driving... but want to give full opportunity to keep the car cool while tracking...
I used a dremel ... super careful if you go midline and to the rear of the car... gets Close to the hood I think a heat gun would have been a better way, just wasnt sure it would work |

Go fast, please.

I see heat spilling out of the hood during the summer months. I don't see how this is going to help other than making sure the engine is wet if it rains or during a car wash.

I thought this piece was actually designed to help extract more heat and provide aero as the car was in motion . Drip protection just being an added bonus. I could however see it allowing more heat to escape at a stand still .

When I installed my aftermarket CF insert to replace the painted one I decided to leave off the drip tray and I made my own grill inserts to replace the slats. No issues whatsoever with water whether it is raining or when I wash her. I think the look is much smoother without the drip tray.

Well, so much for your 70 pounds of downforce over your rear spoiler. Lol

Pretty sure we wont have any issues with air coming out through the hood and providing down force...
Maybe we will get 93 now I will find out tomorrow at Thunderhill... |
