Things are progressing nicely. Whipple, 3.75" pulley, Innovators West lower 10% overdrive pulley, dual nozzle Meth, Fore Triple pump fuel system, ARP bolts, trunion upgrade, ADM trans cooler, 1050x injectors, and dual fans on the heat exchanger are in. Put a tune on it yesterday enough to crank it and get it to the tuner and dyno. Also decided to run 1/2" fuel lines that are are split feeding a 3/8" line to each rail.

She finally has a heartbeat again....

The verdict is in. 644RWHP with 10psi on the mustang dyno (extrapolate how you want) and i am super happy. Had to stop at a 3.75" pulley due to slippage and there is a slight slip in the torque converter still but all in all, I think its going to be good for now and give me some things to upgrade over time. At least I know its capable of more.

One last round of mods for this one. Just ordered the 10 rib system and a 2.875" pulley. Decided to replace the IW overdrive pulley with an ATI while we are at it. Adding 8#s of boost ought to make things interesting. We had an improvement of about 20HP per # of boost so we outta be just over 800RWHP.

Well, this wasn't in the plan so quickly. After installing the Pegasus 10 rib system and smaller pulley, we hit 758RWHP on the mustang dyno with 16.5# of boost. Turns out, the crank pulley does need to be pinned. It spun and ruined the crank. so here we go. Rather than just replacing the crank only to have something else break, it was decided that a tear down and complete rebuild to 416 with parts to handle it was in order. After seeing this and hearing the likelihood of the 6L80 blowing up sooner or later too, i found a low mileage CTS-V 6L90. Engine, 6L90, triple disc stall and driveshaft will be going in as soon as the engine comes back.

It never ends!!!

As I said, it never ends. After pulling the motor apart for the 416 build. We had the cam spec'd. While its a really good cam for naturally aspirated, it's just mediocre for what we are trying to accomplish. So, a new cam and ported/polished heads will be added. With the addition of a better cam, rebuilt 416, 102MM throttle body, ported heads, a triple disc stall that won't slip, and a 6l90 trans we can get a little more aggressive on the tune and the "on paper" math works out to around 900RWHP. We'll see.

And on a really good note, my 6pt RPM roll bar shipped yesterday. Now if we can just get this thing back together and running before Camarofest.

It needs a name though. After all of this, the words "Lab Rat" comes to mind.

The motor is still not done so I decided to bring it home and install the RPM roll bar while there was some downtime. It was a little difficult but nowhere near the effort i can imagine if it were a coupe. The directions weren't the best to say the least but one can figure it out. In the end, it turned out really nice and fits very well. Now if i could just get the engine back i can get the 416 built motor, 6L90 conversion, new driveshaft, and triple disc converter and should be back in business.
