They got me!! Depreciation value?

We'll both the cars get to join the club. She was parked on the street and a clown backing out of the driveway turns in and swiped the front and ripped of the license plate bracket. Gotta go in on Wednesday to have it fixed. My question is how much can I hardline the insurance company for due to the deprecation value? I figured it will take a 2k hit if we trade it in.

You may want to look up the different in Blue Book values for other cars with and without a clean Carfax report. Your probably right about being around $2k but depending on the insurance company you'll be lucky to get it..., unless you get an attorney to help. Many insurance companies are more willing to settle once you lawyer up. Without you might get about 20% of the cost to repair the damage.

Sorry about your car.

Here is what I would do about depreciation value, you can learn from my mistake. This is coincidental because my car was damaged almost identical to yours.

You tell them that since your carfax report is gonna wear the "minor accident reported" tag for something that wasn't your fault that you want $2000 and will not settle without it. They always say "we will talk about that after your car is repaired"

This type of carfax report will get you knicked at certain dealers and on the private market. No one ever gives you the benefit of the doubt because the term "minor accident" is too vague. Your car will likely be fixed and the paint on the bumper will be way better than factory.

Get a rental car, it's on them. Don't be in a big hurry to get your own car back.

dang sorry to see that. Did you happen to catch the person? Get insurance info? That's some pretty serious damage that THEY should be paying for, not you.

Highly unlikely you'll qualify for depreciated value. Even if you do it will be $100 at best.

Just get it done yourself. It's a $500 fix. All you need to do is buy a new bumper cover, drop it off at the paint shop and then install it yourself. No Carfax hit.

Yep, especially if a relative did it. Its a no brainer make them pay for it.

Cosmetic, no frame damage, let it go. You'll waste more time and effort trying to prove that one than it's worth, do yourself a favor and relax, get the car fixed at the best body shop in Vegas & let-it-go.....

I agree 100%. Don't put it on record.

Have relative pay for the repair, no insurance involved.
Don't park on the street.

This sucks man...

But honestly it's a V6 front bumper....how much can it cost to just pay for it out of pocket if your that worried about the depreciation value?
