Z/28s at wholesale auction

There are two '15s with A/C, both with 1,400 miles (one gray and one silver) and a '14 with no A/C with 5,200 miles (silver) that GM is offering for sale.

I would be able to put you in touch with a dealer to facilitate a purchase. He would charge a modest fee over and above purchase price.

I was told by a dealer [good friend of mine] last week GM had a dealer auction and the A/C cars with less than 100 miles were selling for 54. That will give some buyers a heads up what they were selling for a couple weeks ago. It is a shame these cars fell in price that much when they are such a awesome car.

2014's that is about right. 2015's still seem to be holding in the high $50's. I'm not sure there is much spread between retail and wholesale on the Z's.

Would you mind posting what these sell for after the auction close? Do you think the 2014 with no ac and 5200 miles will sell for under 50K?

Buy a new 15 for $57K to $60 during the first two weeks of October. GM added 15 Camaros to the 15% off retail cash back. If a dealer puts a Z28 on their list, then, Triple Net minus the 15% puts the A/C cars at between $57K and a bit more. Not all Z28's will be put on the list nor will all dealers be willing to sell them for basically zero to little profit. Not quite as good as the 20% off MSRP last December, but, still very good deals are already popping up online.

If someone is interested in an Asher Grey one (15 A/C with wicker bill), call Jeff at Britain Chevy in Greenville. He wants his gone.

Ruqwikr can you explain triple net? If the msrp is 76,150 - 11,422.50 (15%) = $64,727.50. Do you think Jeff at Britain would sell in the mid to low 50's?

These prices tell be that cost isn't the issue with the Z/28 sales. IMO, its fear of the maintenance cost associated with the CC brakes.

Bascially, it's true cost to the dealer (Invoice is 1st Net, advertised and non-public incentives is 2nd, and Holdback is 3rd). So, if a dealer sold you a vehicle at true NET cost, you'd hear the term Triple Net. Many dealers won't even discuss that for obvious reasons. A lot, like last December, will just take the 15% (then 20%) rebate off the price and try not to give you have the thousands they have in reserve. Some are already advertising on Cars and Autotrader, etc. in the $57 - $60K range as they are tired of these things gathering dust.

You can call him...great guy...tell him Dave sent you...he'll know who.

I believe the 15% is off of MSRP not including gas guzzler and shipping, but, not for certain, and is not combinable with the 0% or other incentives. Anyways, I think a 15 A/C car at absolute no dealer profit will be upper $50's not low to mid. However, this is not going to help dealers with leftover 14's, won't help auction prices, won't help resale prices, etc.

Once the 16 SS's start hitting the showrooom in a month or so, sales will probably dry up further as they will perform quite well with regular tires and all the fluff options available, plus, maybe they'll show a new version ZL1 soon that is rumored and seems to be running around the streets and Nurburgring.

I've been window shopping for a long time, just have not pulled the trigger on a Z28 or Z06. Not trying to start an argument for or against a Z28...

Just word of warning...make sure to check out the tires, splitter, scratches, etc. on these as they are considered old (lot rot). The selling dealer is responsible. For example, if the tires are flat spotted from sitting for a year, you better have that worked out before you drive off as the dealer, not GM, is going to have to eat the replacement cost.

The 15's in the colors (not Ashen Grey) I am interested in that are local have been on the ground, all outside, for between six and almost fifteen months & counting! As FYI, the Ashen Grey at Britain has always been inside. Don't think it's been test driven either.

I have not looked at the hat dimensions, but, I have a feeling, at least in front, the 16 CTS-V steel rotors would work with a pad change. Plus, there are already guys with 15+ Z06's changing over to steel rotors with aluminum hats. I priced a complete set of C-V vs. Z28 rotors and pads. It's about four times higher for CCB's and pads. Unless you get four times the life, yes, it will be more expensive. If gas mileage, brake / tire / overall cost is the deal breaker, then the Z28, whether at $55 or $75K is probably not the car to pick.

I think the no air car will sell for under between $46 and $48k. I can't post sale prices. Could cost me my job.
