I am almost 100% sure that aftermarket grills (both upper and lower) will be available shortly after the release of the first Camaros. They have replacement grilles for just about evry make and model now as it is. Don't see the "grill" people not wanting a piece of the Camaro Owners pie.

I can't see the RS/SS being much more than $800-1000 additional. You already have the spoiler and the 20 inch rims so it's just the tail lights and HID's.

The bigger change items will be HUD and premium sound.
Didn't they already say the the premium sound was just one of the differences between SS1 and SS2?

Do you have the link? I don't remember seeing this on any of the sites.

Base V6 -----------------------$19,735.00 210hp
V6 Premium ------------------ $21,735.00 210hp
V6 Pony Pk --------------------$22,485.00 210hp
GT------------------------------$26,425.00 300hp
Gt Plus-------------------------$28,375.00 300hp
Shelby GT500 -----------------$42,685.00 500hp
Shelby GT500KR --------------$79,995.00 540hp est.

You decide what you think is realistic, I truly hope and pray that the RS/SS comes in at 29K. I believe, IMHO, it will probably come in somewhere between the GT Plus and the GT500 and closer to the GT500 for the RS/SS. Your definitely getting more than the GT Plus in the SS but you may be getting slightly less than the GT500 with the RS/SS. I say less only from a hp stand point, overall the Camaro brings much more to the table.

I sure hope that if this logic is correct that the Z28 isn't priced competitively with the GT500KR
Also, Dodge had the following information about the Challenger on its website:

SE MSRP: $21,995
R/T MSRP: $29,995
SRT8 MSRP: $41,695

In short, the base SS has to come in right at about $30k to compete with the Mustang GT and the Challenger R/T. Sweet action.

Lets update this.....

Mustang Base V6 ------------------------$19,735.00 210hp
Mustang V6 Premium ---------------------$21,735.00 210hp
Challenger SE ----------------------------$21,995.00 XXXhp
Mustang V6 Pony Pk ----------------------$22,485.00 210hp
Mustang GT-------------------------------$26,425.00 300hp
Mustang Gt Plus---------------------------$28,375.00 300hp
Challenger R/T ----------------------------$29,995.00 370HP
Challenger SRT ----------------------------$41,695.00 425HP
Mustang Shelby GT500 -----------------$42,685.00 500hp
Mustang Shelby GT500KR --------------$79,995.00 540hp est.

Personally, if the SS starts at 29995.00 then just like the challenger its out of my price range of 30k with no options (ss + ttl). The base ss NEEDS to be at the gt premium price or thats no sale for me, regardless of content. That means I'm looking for a used vette.. where as a GT is WELL within my price range, but not gonna happen unless vetts suddenly gain value which is not likely.

Bottom line is the customer needs to be able to walk out the door with base ss + ttl under 30k and that wont happen if its only $5 shy...

$29,995 would surely be the "base price" for a V8 model. That would be a stripped model with NOTHING added. With the option "packages" that most people want, the price will be several thousands more- guaranteed.

I still don't see the big stink about the front bumper on the SS. The little lip across the bottom, is that what people are talking about? It's such a small detail. People want to change the entire front end because of that? It's no big deal!

And I'm glad the halo lights are optional. I don't like the looks of those at all. The car looks much meaner with the standard headlights. Halos just look too gimmicky to me.

That is the best looking Camaro I have ever seen. Love the front end design. I'll have mine in black with white stripes.

its not the little lip on the bottom...the grille and mouth is wider and bigger and looks less symmetrical than the concept. its not a deal breaker but some of us find the v6 bumper more appealing and more true to the concept

Which is perfectly fine with me, considering the "bare bones" SS has all the features of the LT along with 20-inch rims. Not a bad deal at all, considering all the stuff you get for the same price of the R/T.

Did anyone notice the "Ground Effects" on the rocker panel??? It gives the Camaro a 'lower' look without actually decreasing ground clearance or looking like it was glued on at the dealerships(like the 4th Gen "RS" package)...

I believe my 1998 Z28 w/ leather, 6-speed, t-tops, Monsoon, cruise came in around $24K. But I bought the car used in 2004 and I found the window sticker behind the glove box, and I don't remember if that was 'base' Z28 price or out the door price...

I think fully-loaded SS's were going for around $31K near 2002...And the 35th Anniversary's were going quite a bit more (badass looking car!).
