I'm trying really hard to talk myself into a V6.
I'm going to buying a new Camaro this week to replace my Avalanche as my daily driver. The Avalanche is getting 16.5 mpg on my 70 mile round trip commute. Just can't stomach the gas bill anymore.
I've found a leftover 2011 2SS auto that's silver. Not my favorite color but I do like it. Orange or white are my favorites. Payment is a bit higher than what I pay now for the Avalanche but it's not out of reach. My other choices are either a 2LT or 1LT auto in the color combo I want. Both 2012s. 1LT will save me $55/month payment and will save a little on gas over the 2SS. The 2LT will be the same payment as the 2SS. My dilema is that I have only owned V8 Camaros and Firebirds in the past, 9 of them in fact. I've never owned the V6 because I love everything about the V8 from the performance to the sound. I don't think less of the V6, it's just not what gets my adrenaline flowing. I've driven plenty of V6s at work and think that they perform great. I guess my problem is that for $55 a month, is it worth getting a leftover 2SS that isn't really the color or trans. that I would order? I wish I could just get a 2012 2SS but it's out of reach since it doesn't have 0% interest. |

I would look some more, with the 13's coming out shortly I would imagine that any dealer with 11's would be willing to make a deal.
Don't settle, get what you can afford, but get what you are comfortable with, worst thing is buying something you don't want only to be turned out in a year or so when you trade up. |

Commits weekly crime

I might be wrong, but I think he has a V8 already
He's just looking for a second DD, and if that's it....not a problem to have 2 Camaros

Get the V8 if it's what you really like. Is look more important that sound and feel? Or see if your dealer can have a car shipped over. I love my V6 but if you love 8's go 8. And maybe waiting a little will do some good, '13s are right around the corner.

If you are trading the avalanche because you are tired of the 70 miles commute regarding the gas usage , and already have a SS , in my opinion you should do what you start doing , take the V6 that best fit your commute

I say V6 you already have the V8 camaro you can have major fun in. For daily driving choose the V6 and the money saved and the gas money saved can go towards some mods.

Im happy with my 6. Plus u have to factor in the higher grade gas an ss needs and the higher insurance and property tax. And u can leverage the cost of that ss to another dealer.

Agreed, avoid another camaro. I'd imagine the 6 might disappoint you after feeling the 8 lol. The chevy sonic is pretty cool too. But if it absolutely has to be a camaro, get the V6.

Get a Cruze Eco. It's not like the V6 is that great on fuel economy vs. the SS on the highway. The real advantage to the V6 is in the city. If you get the Cruze Eco with the stick shift you'll get over 40mpg highway.
How is the payment the same for the 2LT and 2SS? Either the 2SS has a ridiculous discount on it or the 2SS is for a longer term. |

I reset my DIC every time i fill up. My average between most fill ups is 17.1 MPG and my lifetime avg at 17,600 miles is 18.2 MPG so... If you can't stomach 16.5 you really won't be able to stomach that average on 93 octane. Just my .02
I do not drive in much traffic at all. My avg MPH is 37 MPH. |
