Question Stereo problems..

Okay so here's the run down. My stereo/radio goes off and on just out of the blue. It does it when I'm listening to a CD and the radio. Sometimes it turns back on real quick but most of the time it takes awhile if it even if does come back on.

Anybody have any idea what it could be?

Is it the monsoon system? If so, the head unit or amp

Then it's more than likely either your head unit or amp

Well it has been a couple of weeks and my radio is still acting funny. I've figured out that when it goes dead to smack the dash above the head unit and it'll turn back on.

Bad solder from the factory.. Mid 90s Delco are POS. The work GMC is losing the radio in a similar manner, FM band only.

Amp is located inside the trunk behind the spare tire. All of that is inside the right side interior panel that has the screw pegs holding it on.

If you need a new head unit and want to see something cool: http://www.doubledmods.com/

Sells refit kits with harness plug and play adapters for touch screen units. No cutting, just plug in. Kit with head unit on average runs you 600 usd. Yes you can use radio controls too. Even has a few that run Bluetooth like MyLink or Sync. Plan on upgrading mine when the solder fails.
