Question Dual-Mode Exhaust Controller vs Fuse Pull

Does anyone have experience with using a dual-mode exhaust controller?

I read about the Forza Model C1 ($80), but not sure of the advantage of using a controller over just pulling the fuse (free).

I'm not very "technically" knowledgeable, so some simple insight would be most appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

just pull the fuze there was a post on the forums from a guy who proved all these controllers are nothing more than $20 worth of chinese made parts from the internet put together and sold for $100 go figure.

the fuze just lets you put the exhaust in quiet mode or loud mode while pulling the fuze sets it in loud mode

^^^^^^What Bizaro said. Fuze pull allows the exhaust flap to remain open all the time. Controller allows you to control when it's open and closed. I pulled mine, therefore always having the more aggressive tone. Love it!

I pulled mine day 1 too. If you really want to wake the sound up put high flow cats on, i couldn't be happier.

The controller really only becomes something you will use if you mod your car with LT's, cam, etc which make it much louder. The NPP really wakes up, even with just some high flow cats.

Even then, it is something you can do yourself. I used the DIY, and it cost me $30 in parts and 4 hours. Now I can choose 3 options(always open, always closed, factory mode).

Just pull the fuze and be done with it. With headers / cam with the fuze pulled my car turns heads all over town. Most people are surprised that it has a stock catback

I just have the fuse pulled but have thought about getting something as I will be installing high flow cats soon. Then it comes down to what you want and the value of your time. If you want the radio controller the mild 2 wild is easy and fast. $30 in parts and 4 hours time DIY... the 4 hours is worth more to me than $45 (m2w is like $75) for this type of mod. But that's me

I pulled the fuse and liked the sound for city driving, but the drone on the freeway was annoying. Put the fuse back in and will be getting a controller. Pulling the fuse is an easy way of hearing it and deciding what you want.

Just run a 2 wire cable to a switch by seat, then you can open or close the fuse all day for $5 and 5 minutes of work!

I would prefer to not run two strands of hot wire to the cockpit from the trunk. It leaves opportunity for wire chaffing or such. Adding potential points of failure.

I use the mild 2 wild remote. Spent 70 bucks on amazon and it was an easy install using info hear on the site. Plus it keeps power wires in the trunk fusebox where it belongs.

But for those who complain about how it just is 20 bucks of chinese parts.... you shouldnt make that comparison without doing the same for your car. There is probably only 20k worth of parts in your 1le's. And many of the parts from other countries.

Point is, if you dont want to build your own. Then just spend the 70 bucks for one already. No need to get all crazy about building your own to save a couple hours of income.

Time value of money you know.
